Virtual Queue for May the 4th — Here’s How It Works

First things first: Disney World announced that they’re using a Virtual Queue for an exclusive May the 4th shopping event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is only happening for one day — Sunday, May 4, 2025!

You’ll find the event happening inside the Stage 1 Company Store (over by Muppet*Vision 3D in Muppets Courtyard), and trust us — you won’t want to miss this!

Here’s the official breakdown:

  • WHEN: May 4, 2025

  • WHERE: Stage 1 Company Store at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • WHAT: New and limited-edition Star Wars-themed apparel, collectibles, and limited-release pins will be available.

  • HOW TO JOIN: You’ll need to use the My Disney Experience app and join the Virtual Queue starting at 7:00 AM ET that morning.

  • IMPORTANT: You’ll need valid park admission and a Hollywood Studios park reservation (if applicable) to participate.

NOTE:
Joining the Virtual Queue doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to shop — and items may sell out quickly! Limits on how many items you can buy will apply, too.

Here’s something extra special — Disney is hosting the Star Wars Day shopping event inside the Stage 1 Company Store, which has been mostly closed for a while now!

If you haven’t heard, Muppets Courtyard is rumored to be getting a major makeover (👀 looking at you, Monsters, Inc.), and some fans even thought Stage 1 was permanently shuttered.

So not only do you get first dibs on limited-edition Star Wars merch, you might also get a last look inside a hidden Disney World spot before it changes forever!

Quick Refresher: What Is Virtual Queue?

If you’ve never used Disney’s Virtual Queue system before, here’s a quick refresher:

  • It’s a digital line you join through the My Disney Experience app.

  • You’ll be assigned a boarding group when you join.

  • When your group is called, you’ll get a push notification telling you it’s time to head to the shopping experience.

  • TIP: Be ready right at 7:00 AM Eastern — spots can go FAST!!

The last time Disney World used a Virtual Queue inside the parks was way back in February 2025, before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind switched to regular standby lines. So this is definitely a special case!
