Big changes are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Parks fans now have a date to mark on their calendars. Disney has confirmed that not just one but two new experiences will debut in November, transforming the Tree of Life Theater and giving guests the chance to meet their favorite Zootopia (2016) characters up close.
The Tree of Life Theater has been dark since March 17, 2025, when It’s Tough To Be A Bug! permanently closed after nearly 27 years. The opening-day Discovery Island attraction, based on A Bug’s Life (1998), combined 3D animation with in-theater effects to immerse guests in the world of insects.
At Destination D23 in 2023, Walt Disney Imagineering revealed that the Tree of Life Theater would be reimagined with a new show inspired by Zootopia (2016), bringing Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and their friends into the heart of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The show would eventually be titled “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”.
On Thursday, Walt Disney World Resort confirmed that “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will officially debut in the Tree of Life Theater on November 7, 2025. The show will premiere just weeks before Zootopia 2 (2025).

The nine-minute 3D production will invite guests to celebrate Zoogether Day in “CarrotVision 3D.” Themed queue posters will set the stage for the adventure, which is divided into three acts culminating in a rousing finale featuring Gazelle’s hit song “Try Everything.” A brand-new wolf character, Heidi Howler, serves as the host of the show.
But that’s not all. Alongside the new theater show, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is also introducing a meet-and-greet with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Guests will soon be able to meet the iconic duo on Discovery Island near the Tree of Life, where they’ll debut costumes inspired by Zootopia 2.
