Here's something Disney guests don't see very often: a price drop.
As vacation costs continue to rise across Walt Disney World, Disney has quietly lowered the price of its Lightning Lane Premier Pass at two of its four theme parks. The change gives guests the lowest Premier Pass prices ever offered at Magic Kingdom and ties the lowest price previously available at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The discounts only apply on select dates, but they're still welcome news for visitors looking to save wherever they can.
The Lowest Price Yet at Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is typically the most expensive park to purchase a Premier Pass, thanks to its popularity and large collection of attractions.
For August 23 and August 25, however, Disney has lowered the price to $299 per person. That's the lowest Magic Kingdom Premier Pass has ever been priced.
Both dates also feature Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party later in the evening, meaning daytime guests have fewer hours inside the park than they would on a normal operating day.
Even so, guests purchasing Premier Pass still receive access to every eligible Lightning Lane attraction during regular park hours.
Animal Kingdom Matches Its Best Deal
Disney also adjusted pricing at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Guests visiting the park can purchase Premier Pass for $119 per person, matching the lowest price Disney has previously offered.
Animal Kingdom generally sees lower Premier Pass prices because it has a smaller lineup of Lightning Lane attractions than Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or Disney's Hollywood Studios.
For travelers planning a full day exploring Pandora – The World of Avatar, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, and the park's other attractions, the lower price may make the upgrade a little easier to justify.
How Premier Pass Works
Premier Pass offers a different experience than Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
Rather than booking return times throughout the day, guests simply enter Lightning Lane queues whenever they choose. Each eligible attraction can be experienced once using the pass, allowing visitors to move through the park at their own pace.
That convenience is the biggest reason many guests purchase the service.
Without scheduled ride windows, there's no pressure to constantly adjust plans or rush across the park to make the next reservation.
Will Prices Stay This Low?
Probably not.
Disney uses flexible pricing for many of its vacation products, and Premier Pass is no exception. Costs regularly change based on expected demand, crowd levels, and the time of year.
That means these record-low prices likely won't be available every day.
Still, it's encouraging to see Disney reduce prices instead of raising them. For guests who have been interested in Premier Pass but hesitant because of the cost, these select dates offer the best value Disney has made available so far.
