Disney Springs Handing Out Free Pins Today, With One Catch

Head on over to Six Ravens at Disney Springs today for their grand opening; the Coffyns are only $10.96.

Tatties are $8.66.

The tart is $7.66. Root beer is $6.96. Fountain drinks are $3.66. Every beer on the list is $9.66.

Every single price ends in 96 or 66.

Six and nine. Six Ravens. On the menu board. Nobody is talking about it.

That is the energy this place runs on, and today is its grand opening at Disney Springs.

Some context.

Six Ravens has actually been serving since August. Two months of soft opening before anybody cut a ribbon.

Which is the correct way to do it, by the way. This is the team behind Gideon's Bakehouse, a place with a line reputation that precedes it. Two months of real service means you know exactly how fast your window moves before the crowds show up for a grand opening.

Today, Saturday, October 17, is the party. The kitchen was already sorted.

Free Pin. Go Early.

Celebration kicks off at 10 a.m.

Six Ravens Shield Pin, free with purchase, one per person, while supplies last.

The pin is shield-shaped, with an antiqued gold finish, a crowned raven's profile over six stars, a raised border, and a textured surface. Comes on a black card with a red-and-black diamond border and “Six Ravens” in white Gothic type.

There is also a Six Ravens Crown, gold, with the name and shield emblem on it. Also free with purchase.

Note that part. With purchase. Not just free.

No minimum was announced. Cheapest thing on the menu is a $3.66 fountain drink, and whether that counts is unconfirmed, so do not drive over banking on it.

Here Is the Thing Collectors Need

Two merch items today, and they do not behave the same.

The Textured Sticker Sheet, titled “The Intrepid Pilgrims,” featuring skeletal characters and a full-length illustration of “The King,” goes up at gideonsbakehouse.com at 10 a.m.

The pin? No online release announced.

So one of these you can get from your couch. The other one requires showing up and is capped at 1 per person, with no quantity disclosed.

This is a Gideon's-adjacent limited drop. You know what that means. Go early.

What a Coffyn Even Is

Yeast rolls with the whole sandwich sealed inside.

And the name is real. Per Disney, “Coffyn” was the original word for hand pie, and the thing was popular across medieval Europe straight through the Tudor period into the early 1600s.

Six Ravens is real too. Tower of London, and the legend of the ravens that still guard the place.

Which is what that pin is. Crowned raven, six stars. It is the legend as a crest.

Five Orlando Restaurants Are on This Menu

This is the actual story, and it is better than the pin.

Six Ravens did not just thank local spots. It built the menu with them.

  • The Peasant's Patty, a cheeseburger with American cheese and dill pickle bits, served with Pink Salamander Dipping Sauce
  • The Villain of Valentina, basil pesto chicken and balsamic tomatoes, with Bruno's Garlic Knot Juice from Pizza Bruno
  • The Wizard's Wonder, mac and cheese with pickled poblano and BBQ pulled pork, with Prince Donut's Smoke and Cherry BBQ Sauce from Smoke and Donuts
  • The Imperial Idol, mildly spicy chicken with potato carrot coconut curry, with Red Panda's Dipping Sauce from Red Panda Noodle
  • The Moreish Monk, grilled cheese with Vermont white cheddar, Havarti and tomato jam, with Wolf Peach Sauce
  • The Foragers Find, spiced sweet potatoes, black bean corn salsa, pepitas and queso cotija, with Tropic of Mango Aioli Dip

Papi's Burritos got named too.

Then look at the beer. Polite Light and Lone Palm from The Ravenous Pig. Florida Sunshine Mango from The Crooked Can. Sideward Cider and the 7 percent Moon Boots IPA from Sideward Brewing.

All Central Florida. Not one national brand anywhere on the menu.

A Disney Springs counter-service spot running on five independent Orlando restaurants and three local breweries is not normal, and it is the best thing about this place.

What It Runs You

Coffyn, Tatties, root beer. $26.58 before tax.

For reference, Blaze Pizza down the way just took its build-your-own to $13.50. So the Coffyn is now the cheaper entree.

Open today 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

What Is Coming

Limited-edition flavors, including one for Halloween weekend. More tarts. More merch, artwork, and lore.

And the big one: they teased bottling the Realm Famous Honey Mustard, with other sauces maybe following. No dates.

When that drops, you already know how it is going to go.
