Disney Springs, the bustling heart of dining, shopping, and entertainment at Walt Disney World, is currently experiencing a notable shift with the temporary closure of a beloved venue.
Vivoli il Gelato, known for its authentic Italian gelato, has announced the closure of its main location for renovations.
Although fans may feel a twinge of disappointment, the good news is that guests can still satisfy their gelato cravings from nearby carts located at the entrance of the original shop and by the LEGO Store.
Vivoli il Gelato shared the news on social media, stating, “Exciting things are on their way!! Our main store in @disneysprings is closed for renovation. Don’t worry though! You can still get our gelato and sorbetto from the carts that are located near the entrance of the store and by the LEGO Store.” This ensures that while the flagship location is under construction, visitors won’t have to forgo their favorite frozen treats entirely.

Recent and Upcoming Closures at Disney World
The changes at Disney Springs are not limited to Vivoli’s renovation. The Star Wars Trading Post officially closed on October 24, marking the end of one of the two Star Wars-themed retail locations at Disney Springs. Guests seeking Star Wars merchandise can now head to the Once Upon a Toy store instead. Notably, the annual Santa Claus meet-and-greet is expected to be relocated to the now-closed Trading Post, with festivities kicking off in mid-November and likely requiring a virtual queue for access.
Looking ahead, several closures are anticipated across Disney World in 2024 and 2025 as the company continues to refresh its offerings.
In 2025, Disney World is set to see several significant closures, including the beloved Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This iconic ride, known for its thrilling mine train experience, is expected to close for an extended refurbishment. Additionally, recent announcements regarding Dinoland U.S.A. indicate plans for its transformation, as Disney aims to refresh this area to create new attractions and experiences
