Disneyland Paris Resort is preparing for the closure of its long-standing McDonald’s in Disney Village as construction continues on a brand-new, modernized location just steps away.
McDonald’s has partnered with The Walt Disney Company since the 1980s, beginning with a long-running Happy Meal toy collaboration. In the 1990s, guests could find McDonald’s kiosks in Disneyland Park, Magic Kingdom Park, and EPCOT, along with a full-service restaurant in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort (now Disney Springs). The Golden Arches even left a playful mark on Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, where three pipes inside the DINOSAUR attraction are still painted ketchup red, mustard yellow, and mayonnaise white—a nod to the sponsorship that once existed there.
Although McDonald’s was removed from U.S. Disney parks in the early 2000s amid growing calls for healthier food options, the Golden Arches have remained a constant at Disneyland Paris Resort. After opening its first French location in 1972, McDonald’s quickly grew in popularity, and its Disney Village restaurant has been serving guests since 1999. The location is known for retaining much of its original 1990s aesthetic, making it a nostalgic favorite among long-time Disney Park guests.
Now, nearly 30 years later, the Disney Village McDonald’s is preparing for a major change. Construction is well underway on a brand-new location near Lake Disney, which will officially replace the existing restaurant. According to @DLPReport, which shared a construction update on X (formerly known as Twitter):

According to reports, the updated restaurant is expected to open in early 2026 and will feature “an innovative architecture designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris.” In the meantime, Disney Park guests can continue to grab their fries and McNuggets at the original Disney Village location, which remains open for business.
