8. Magic Bands
So, what are Magic Bands? Magic Bands are Disney’s way of consolidating park tickets, FastPasses, dining reservations, PhotoPass pictures, payment methods, and resort room keys (if you’re staying on property). Typically, 2 weeks prior to your trip, Disney will mail your Magic Bands to your home address. You can then use the Magic Bands to board Magical Express and arrive at your resort. While checking into your resort, you can attach a credit or debit card to your Magic Band, making it incredibly easy to pay for food and souvenirs in the parks. Your Magic Band will also be your room key, letting you not only into your room but also into your resort’s pool area. When you arrive for a FastPass reservation, you will tap your Magic Band to the glowing Mickey stationed outside to confirm that you do, in fact, have a FastPass. The applications are almost endless, and there are many ways to personalize your Magic Band, too.
