Construction at Walt Disney World is a common sight as the resort continually evolves to enhance the guest experience.

Periodically, construction walls are erected in various areas of the parks, signaling ongoing refurbishments, expansions, or the introduction of new attractions. While these walls serve as indicators of progress, they can also temporarily disrupt guest flow within the parks.

Walt Disney World Resort is home to four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Each Disney park has seen construction and new attractions over the years. The most recent park that is dealing with construction is EPCOT.

EPCOT’s ongoing construction appears unending, with Disney recently cordoning off a section of the park with new walls. EPCOT has been undergoing extensive changes since late 2019, marked by the erection of construction barriers.

EPCOT transformation and construction has introduced new attractions such as Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. There have been additions like new dining venues, fireworks displays, and a new statue, bringing the park’s overhaul near completion. The remaining focus is on CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, which are set for completion later this year.

The ongoing construction, confirmed by reports from Kenny the Pirate, around CommuniCore has impacted guest pathways. Specifically, the walkway from the Imagination Pavilion to the World Showcase and World Celebration is now inaccessible due to newly erected construction walls.

When construction walls are built, guests may encounter temporary closures of walkways, attractions, or dining locations. In such instances, Disney employs various strategies to ensure Disney World guests can navigate the parks smoothly. Clear signage, often adorned with Disney characters or thematic elements, directs guests to alternative routes or attractions, minimizing confusion and ensuring a seamless experience.

While construction walls may temporarily alter the landscape of Disney World parks, they ultimately signify progress and growth within the resort. Through careful planning, effective communication, and a commitment to guest satisfaction, Walt Disney World Resort ensures that even during periods of construction, the magic of the parks remains and guests can still make and expereince Disney magic while at the parks.
