Disney World Confirms Magic Kingdom Tickets Unavailable Ahead of Thanksgiving Rush

Thanksgiving travelers heading to Walt Disney World may need to rethink part of their holiday plans after another popular Magic Kingdom event officially sold out.

With November approaching, families are preparing for one of the busiest travel periods of the year. Many visitors hope to experience Disney World's Christmas celebrations while spending Thanksgiving in Orlando.

However, guests hoping to attend one particular Magic Kingdom event are now out of luck unless they already purchased tickets.

The latest sellout comes weeks before Thanksgiving, leaving some families searching for another way to enjoy the holiday festivities.

Here are the tickets that are no longer available and the options that remain.

Magic Kingdom Party Sells Out Before Thanksgiving

Disney World has sold out of tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, just one day before Thanksgiving.

The event previously cost $209 per adult, but guests can no longer purchase admission for that date.

It's another sold-out night for Disney's popular Christmas celebration, which takes place on select evenings throughout November and December.

Importantly, this doesn't mean Magic Kingdom itself has sold out.

The restriction only applies to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Regular daytime admission remains separate, and Disney has not confirmed that standard park tickets will be unavailable on November 25.

However, visitors without party admission cannot remain inside Magic Kingdom once regular operating hours end.

That distinction could make a difference for families who planned to spend Thanksgiving week enjoying Disney's nighttime Christmas entertainment.

Thanksgiving Travelers May Need to Change Their Plans

For families visiting Disney World during Thanksgiving week, November 25 offered an opportunity to celebrate Christmas before the holiday itself.

Some travelers may have planned to relax at their resort during the day before visiting Magic Kingdom that evening.

Unfortunately, anyone who hasn't already purchased a November 25 party ticket will need another plan.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party requires separate admission, meaning regular theme park tickets won't provide access to the celebration.

That rule also applies to Annual Passholders and guests with Park Hopper tickets.

Families with flexible schedules can consider attending another party, but those visiting Orlando for only a few days may have fewer options.

Fortunately, Disney still has several dates available.

Which Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Dates Remain?

As of October 20, guests can still purchase tickets for 14 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party dates across November and December.

The remaining dates include:

  • November 15, 19, 27, and 29

  • December 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 18

Disney allows party ticket holders to enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m., three hours before the celebration officially starts.

The event runs from 7 p.m. until midnight, giving guests five hours of Christmas entertainment after regular park hours.

Adult admission for guests ages 10 and older ranges from $189 to $229, plus tax, depending on the date.

Children ages 3 through 9 receive a $10 discount, while eligible Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can receive discounts on select evenings.

Since availability can change, guests should check Disney's official ticket calendar before making reservations or adjusting their vacations.

What Makes the Christmas Party Different?

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party offers several experiences that guests won't necessarily find during an ordinary Magic Kingdom visit.

Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade features festive floats, Disney characters, and Santa Claus as they move through the park.

Guests can also enjoy complimentary cookies and seasonal beverages at participating locations.

At Cinderella Castle, Frozen Holiday Surprise features Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff.

Several attractions receive Christmas-themed experiences, including Space Mountain, Jingle Cruise, Tomorrowland Speedway, Mad Tea Party, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

Special merchandise, holiday treats, and festive decorations give visitors even more reasons to attend.

Other Christmas Experiences Remain Available

Missing the November 25 party doesn't mean families have to skip Disney World's holiday celebrations entirely.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins November 27, offering seasonal food, entertainment, and traditions from around the world.

Disney's resort hotels also feature Christmas decorations and festive displays that guests can enjoy without purchasing theme park admission.

Magic Kingdom visitors can still experience the park's holiday decorations during regular operating hours.

For Thanksgiving travelers, these alternatives may help fill the gap left by the sold-out party.

However, anyone hoping to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party should consider securing another available date before additional nights sell out.
