Disney World Guests Have Limited Access to Magic Kingdom Next Month as New Data Comes To Light

The sellout pace for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 has picked up again. As of this report, September 8 no longer appears as purchasable on Disney's official ticket calendar, matching the $154 price point of September 4, which sold out just days earlier. Both are now the third and fourth dates removed from availability since the pace accelerated at the end of July.

The timeline is worth spelling out plainly: on July 30, every September date for this event was still listed as available. Within 48 hours, that had changed twice over. The assumption that September would move more slowly than August — an assumption based on how the calendar looked through most of the summer — no longer matches what the data shows.

Full Sellout Timeline

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 runs its first night on August 7 at Magic Kingdom. Tracking every date removed from the calendar since general public sales opened in May produces the following sequence:

  2. August 11 — $119
  3. August 14 — $119
  4. August 18
  5. October 9
  6. October 13
  7. August 7 (Opening Night)
  8. September 4 — $154

Remaining Inventory, By Month

The following dates remain listed as available for purchase at time of publication, per Disney's live ticket calendar.

August: August 21 ($139), August 23 ($139), August 25 ($144), August 28 ($149), August 30 ($149)

September: September 1 ($149), September 11 ($159), September 13 ($159), September 15 ($164), September 18 ($169), September 20 ($169), September 22 ($169), September 24 ($174), September 25 ($179), September 27 ($179), September 29 ($184)

October: October 1 ($189), October 2 ($199), October 4 ($199), October 6 ($199), October 8 ($204), October 15 ($214), October 16 ($219), October 18 ($219), October 22 ($219), October 23 ($224), October 25 ($224), October 27 ($224), October 29 ($224)

At $149, September 1 is currently the lowest-priced remaining date on the calendar, positioning it as the most probable next sellout based on pricing patterns observed elsewhere in the season.

Year-Over-Year Comparison

Comparing this year's pace to 2025 is useful context. Last year, once September sellouts began, the rate of removal increased sharply: every August date had sold out by August 26, and September 2 had already followed by that same point. This year's calendar is currently moving faster than that benchmark, with two September dates already gone before August has concluded.

One data point remains unexplained: both September 4 and September 8 sold out ahead of September 1, despite September 1 carrying a lower price. Disney has not issued a comment on the sequencing, and the company does not release remaining ticket counts for dates still listed as available. As a result, the sellout list reflects only which dates have been removed from sale — not total tickets sold, projected attendance density for any given night, or whether capacity was adjusted for specific dates.

Planning Considerations

For travelers with itineraries built around a specific Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party date, the current data suggests moving sooner rather than later. September 1 is the only remaining date under $150, and the two most recent sellouts indicate September is being purchased at a faster rate than August was through a comparable stretch.

Every date from September 11 onward is priced above September 1, meaning that a sellout at this point in the calendar carries a cost increase in addition to a scheduling change. Checking Disney's live ticket calendar before treating any date as secured is advisable, particularly for travelers with non-refundable hotel or travel bookings tied to a specific night.

For guests visiting Magic Kingdom on party nights without a ticket, Disney has implemented operational adjustments — including earlier park entry and reduced Lightning Lane pricing — intended to address the impact of the 6 p.m. park closure.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
