Walt Disney World Resort just made it much harder for guests to find a place to relax during their visit to EPCOT. The seating area, located between Creations Shop and Connections Café in the World Celebration neighborhood, was a favorite spot for those looking to rest, eat, or simply people-watch during a busy day at the Central Florida Disney park.
On October 23, 2025, Reddit user u/Elegant_Bar_1622 shared a photo showing the vacant space where the seating area once stood. This area, added during the Future World overhaul, had been a rare opportunity at EPCOT for those who needed a break from walking around the park.

“Yall. They’ve taken away the seating in between Connections and Creations at EPCOT!” the Reddit user posted. “Why would they do that? Was there an announcement I missed?”
The removal of the seating area came as a shock, as there was no prior announcement from Walt Disney World Resort. As usual, Disney Parks fans took to social media to share their thoughts and theories about the change. Some users suggested that the area had been removed to address issues with guest behavior.
“This used to be one of my favorite areas to sit, eat, and people watch,” Reddit user u/Experiment626b commented. “Now pin traders with binders full of 1000s of dollars worth of pins camp out here and steal all the seating from everyone so they can be jerks to casual pin traders or rip them off. I actually saw one of them celebrating one day after. Trade with just a normal family with a handful of pins. They waited until they walked away and weren’t looking and just starting freaking out.”
“Agreed it’s gotten so weird and rude in this area!!” said u/AgitatedCockroach862. “My first assumption is they removed the seating to stop pin hawkers from camping out there.”
However, not all Disney Parks fans agreed. Some speculated that the removal could be related to upcoming runDisney events, such as the half-marathon scheduled for the weekend.
“Half marathon this weekend goes through there, they probably removed it for that,” said u/Funkyneat.
“They absolutely were removed for the race,” u/gmmwewlma agreed. “Next Tuesday they will be right back.”
Despite the buzz on social media, Walt Disney World Resort has not yet issued an official statement explaining the removal of the seating area.
