International guests flock to Walt Disney World Resort for many reasons, drawn by the allure of its magical offerings and renowned attractions.
For many international guests, a trip to Walt Disney World Resort represents a cherished childhood dream come true. Whether inspired by classic animated films or enchanted by the magic of Disney storytelling, visiting the parks evokes feelings of nostalgia and sentimentality, making it a truly special and unforgettable experience.
Disney World is home to some of the world’s most iconic and beloved attractions. From the enchanting Magic Kingdom, where fairy tales come to life, to the futuristic landscapes of EPCOT and the thrilling adventures of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there’s something for every traveler to enjoy.
However, Disney World is making changes, starting with international guests. In previous years, Walt Disney World guests received a complimentary MagicBand upon check-in, that’s no longer the case.
In a Reddit Thread, An international Disney guest warns guests about MagicBands being an upcharge now because Disney no longer sells MagicBands to international guests before check-in. This guest tried to purchase MagicBands beforehand to have them shipped to the resort however, Disney would not allow this purchase.

MagicBands are no longer accessible for Passholders or Disney Resort hotel guests, but discounted options are available for purchase. However, these discounts are only accessible to American travelers. International guests cannot purchase discounted MagicBands as they won’t ship to them. They can buy them upon arrival, but without the discount.
MagicBands are wearable devices used at Disney World that serve as a magical key to unlock various experiences and services throughout theme parks and resorts. Disney’s Magic Bands are equipped with RFID technology and linked to a guest’s Disney account, containing crucial information like park tickets, hotel reservations, dining plans, and Disney Genie+ selections. With a simple touch, Disney World guests can enter the parks, access their hotel rooms, make purchases, and redeem Lightning Lanes.
If you are an international guest, are you purchasing a MagicBand when you arrive at the parks?
