Other commenters reported similarly inconsistent experiences, while several said they were still checked. The reports point to inconsistent enforcement, not a confirmed loophole.
Disney Springs Resort Transportation Still Has an Official Restriction
Disney’s published bus policy is clear. Bus service from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels is available to guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or visiting one with a valid dining or experience reservation. Disney says guests “may be asked” to show a valid resort room key, dining reservation, or experience reservation.
For guests traveling because of a dining or experience booking, Disney says they may board the appropriate resort bus from Disney Springs up to two hours before the reservation. The company’s water-transportation guidance uses similar language for the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs.

The comments show why travelers should be careful about treating that experience as a reliable trick. One guest said scanning occurred on the weekend but not during several weekdays. Others reported being checked at the bus entrance, on the boat to Port Orleans, or during afternoon trips. Another commenter said they had been checked over Labor Day weekend.
Some commenters attributed the inconsistency to September’s lighter crowd conditions, but Disney has not publicly confirmed that it suspends or relaxes verification according to crowd levels. That means guests should use My Disney Experience for directions and ask a Cast Member when unsure. Disney specifically recommends its app for transportation routes and stop locations, and the company notes that some trips require a transfer.
The Real Story Is Enforcement, Not a Policy Reversal
