Disney has suspended one of its many modes of transportation in Florida.

Main Street in the Disney theme park is bustling with visitors. People walk, push strollers, and some use mobility scooters. Decorated shops line the street, and a majestic castle stands in the background under a partly cloudy sky. Security ensures everyone enjoys their magical day safely.

Due to the sheer size of Walt Disney World, guests are given a variety of options when it comes to transportation. Disney World’s bus service is arguably the most popular and can often be the fastest option, depending on where guests are staying.

However, guests can also hop aboard the Monorail for a scenic journey around the Walt Disney World Resort. The futuristic high-speed rail car takes guests to and from Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and a selection of Disney World hotels.

Guests can also use Disney’s newest mode of transport, the Skyliner. This is likely the most unique way to get around Walt Disney World. Guests board gondolas that take them high above the rest of the resort, making for a fun and efficient way to travel.

Disney’s Skyliner takes guests to and from EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and various hotels.

However, it’s hard to beat the beauty of a Disney World boat ride. Guests can take a boat to and from Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios, with certain services traveling to several Disney World hotels.

The boat service between Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Grand Floridian closed for refurbishment, specifically for the rehabilitation of the Grand Floridan’s dock, according to WDWNT.

This refurbishment is expected to be completed by the end of the week on September 14, meaning guests won’t have to go long without watercraft transport.

In the meantime, guests are encouraged to use walking paths between Disney’s Grand Floridan and Magic Kingdom or use an alternate mode of transport like the ones mentioned above.

More on Disney’s water transportation:

Take in the scenery and relax with welcome breezes as you sail around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Feel the wind in your hair and the magic in the air as you cruise Crescent Lake and Lake Hollywood. Water taxis and ferries sail to and from Magic Kingdom park. Most routes run on 15- to 30-minute intervals.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has undergone extensive changes in recent years, with multiple refurbishments happening inside and out. The hotel’s lobby and several locations inside the resort have received upgrades in the last few months.

Last year, the walkway between Disney’s Grand Floridian and Disney’s Polynesian Resorts closed, making navigation slightly trickier.

About Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
