Disney just dropped the full details for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026, and buried in the announcement is something that changes the party in a way no previous edition has.

Disney Villains are going to be roaming the streets of Magic Kingdom.
Not at a meet-and-greet table. Not on a stage. Through the park, appearing as guests move through the streets on party nights. The official announcement puts it this way: keep your eyes peeled because you may see new and returning Disney Villains appear as you creep through the streets. That phrasing is intentional. The appearance is unscheduled. The location is unannounced. The encounter is organic.
For everyone who has attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party before and knows exactly how the evening flows, the roaming villains are the specific new variable that makes 2026 different. The party has always had spectacular entertainment, beloved returning shows, excellent trick-or-treating, and exclusive character greetings at fixed locations. What it has never had is the genuine possibility of turning a corner in Fantasyland or Frontierland and coming face to face with a villain who was not there a moment ago. That element of the unexpected, applied specifically to some of Disney's most theatrical characters, is a meaningful evolution for an event that has been operating for years.
Everything else about the 2026 party has also been confirmed, and it is all here.

The August party falls on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. September follows the same pattern with a Thursday added on the 24th. October is the most packed month, with party nights on most Thursdays, most Fridays, most Sundays, most Tuesdays, and Halloween itself on Saturday.
An important planning note: on party nights, Magic Kingdom closes to regular day guests at approximately 6 PM to allow the park to prepare for the event. Guests with party tickets can enter as early as 4 PM, before the official 7 PM start time, giving them up to eight hours to experience the full party.
When and How to Buy Tickets

Ticket sales open on May 5 for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, the Swan and Dolphin, and Shades of Green. All other guests can purchase starting May 12. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members have access to discounted pricing again this year.
Tickets are available at Disneyworld.com/Halloween or by calling the Disney Reservation Center at 407-934-7639. Prices vary by date, with later October dates and weekends running higher than early-season or weeknight options. Party dates sell out and the final October weekends closest to Halloween historically go first.
New Entertainment and Returning Favorites

The roaming villains lead the new content for 2026. Alongside them, Stitch takes over the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland with a new dance party concept. After getting hold of Lilo's Costume Trunk, every accessory Stitch tries on triggers a theme swap, keeping the show unpredictable throughout the night. Lilo and Angel are part of the fun. The Cadaver Dans, the beloved Frontierland singing quartet, return once again.
The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is back. Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson take the castle stage and attempt to cast their spell with the help of Hades, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Dr. Facilier, and the Evil Queen. Guests clap and sing to add ingredients to the cauldron. It is one of the most genuinely entertaining pieces of live performance Disney produces and it remains the party's signature show.
Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade runs at 8:15 PM. The Headless Horseman leads the procession before Mickey, Minnie, and friends parade through the park with waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses, and villains. Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph is confirmed in the parade lineup this year.
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular brings Jack Skellington to Cinderella Castle as the narrator of a spooky story featuring Zero leading Mickey and Friends through a haunted house. Projections transform the castle while Ursula, the Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie appear overhead in the fireworks show.
Character Greetings
Jack Skellington and Sally are available for meet-and-greets. Mickey and Minnie greet guests together in their Halloween costumes at Town Square Theater. Pooh appears in his bumblebee costume. Festive royal couples including Ariel and Eric and Aladdin and Jasmine will be out for the evening. A complete character list is coming closer to the event.
Trick-or-Treating
More than a dozen trick-or-treat stations are marked on the party map throughout the park. Cast members hand out M&Ms, Snickers, and Starburst at each stop. Complimentary treat bags are provided to every guest, adults included. Costumes are encouraged but not required to collect candy. Disney has published official costume guidelines for guests who want to dress up.
Ride Overlays and What Is Still Coming
Several attractions will receive Halloween-themed overlays with special lighting and music, though specific ride transformations have not yet been announced. Party-exclusive merchandise and the full food and beverage guide are also still to come.
How This Affects Your Disney Fall Trip
The roaming villains represent the most guest-experience-meaningful change to this party in years, and guests who have attended before and assumed they knew what to expect in 2026 should recalibrate. The spontaneous, location-unknown villain encounters create a layer of Halloween atmosphere that fixed entertainment and meet-and-greet stations have never been able to replicate.
For guests not attending the party, the date calendar above is the most important document for any Magic Kingdom visit between August and October. On every party date, Magic Kingdom closes to day guests at 6 PM. A standard Magic Kingdom day on a party night loses its evening hours unless you have a party ticket. The August and September calendars include multiple party nights per week. October has party nights most of the week from mid-month through the end. Before booking any Magic Kingdom day in this window, check the date against the party calendar.
For guests who are open to attending the party, the combination of the roaming villains, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, the Headless Horseman parade, and the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks makes this one of the more complete entertainment lineups the party has offered. Adding the trick-or-treating, the exclusive character greetings, and the early 4 PM entry window, the event justifies its separate ticket cost in a way that not every Disney after-hours event consistently does.
Ticket sales open May 5 for resort hotel guests and May 12 for everyone else. If Halloween night or late October dates are on your list, act when tickets go live rather than waiting. Those specific nights sell out before most guests realize the window has closed. Visit Disneyworld.com/Halloween to purchase when the time comes.
