Disney’s Latest App Update Introduces a New Search Results Screen

With the rollout of version 8.19.0 of the My Disney Experience app, Disney has introduced a redesigned search results interface.

At first glance, the change may appear subtle—but the difference becomes clear when comparing the old layout to the new one.

Previously, search results were displayed in a more compact list format, allowing multiple results to appear within a single viewable screen. The updated version instead uses larger, card-style results, placing a stronger emphasis on images associated with each attraction, location, or offering.

The updated layout includes:

  • Larger visual thumbnails attached to each result

  • A card-based layout that highlights individual listings

  • Fewer results visible at once due to the larger design elements

Importantly, the update appears to be purely visual. The underlying search results themselves remain largely the same as before, meaning the system is still pulling similar—or identical—data when users search for specific terms.

Still, the redesign noticeably changes how information is presented within the app.

Social Media Reactions Show Fans Are Watching Closely

As with many Disney updates, fans quickly began discussing the change across social platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit.

Some users praised the new look, saying the image-focused design feels cleaner and easier to scan when searching for attractions or restaurants.

Others were less enthusiastic, noting that the new layout displays fewer results per screen, which may require additional scrolling when looking for something specific.

Several fans also pointed out that while the visual redesign is welcome, they’re hoping Disney eventually tackles what they see as the bigger issue—improving search accuracy itself.

For frequent visitors, the ability to quickly locate an attraction or experience can make a major difference during a busy park day.
