2026 Disneyland Expansion: Mickey Mouse Announces Big Plans

Expect Big Changes Next Year

The sound of rushing water might not seem like a headline moment for this Disneyland Park—unless you’re a Disney Imagineer witnessing the latest milestone in a magical journey years in the making.

At Disneyland Paris, the upcoming Frozen Ever After attraction has reached a major construction benchmark: the water flume is now operational. This exciting step brings Disney fans one step closer to experiencing Arendelle in a way they’ve never seen before on European soil.

What exactly does this mean for the park—and why should fans take notice now?

Water Brings Frozen Dreams to Life at Disneyland Paris

As part of the expansive World of Frozen, which is set to open in 2026, the new ride will transport guests through the beloved world of Frozen via a detailed boat journey, echoing the popular attraction found at EPCOT in Florida. Riders will float past iconic scenes, encounter lifelike characters, and hear the unforgettable soundtrack from the film in an entirely new setting tailored for Disneyland Paris.

The recent water test wasn’t just a technical check—it was a symbolic moment. Disney Imagineers gathered to pour water from other Frozen-themed rides around the globe into the flume, celebrating the unifying magic of the brand and the global reach of Disney’s storytelling.

Step Into Arendelle: A Land Beyond the Ride

The Frozen Ever After attraction is only one part of what promises to be a breathtaking expansion. World of Frozen will feature everything from themed dining to interactive meet-and-greets, allowing guests to walk the snow-covered streets of Arendelle. The land is being constructed along the waterfront of Adventure Bay, in the newly rebranded Disney Adventure World (formerly Walt Disney Studios Park).

More Than a Ride—A Turning Point for Disneyland Paris

While the water test marks a literal milestone, it also represents a broader shift in Disney’s vision for its Paris resort. The investment in IP-based lands, like World of Frozen, is part of a larger effort to modernize the guest experience and bring high-quality storytelling to life on a grander scale.

This isn’t just about building another attraction. It’s about transforming Disneyland Paris into a must-visit destination for global audiences, much like its counterparts in California, Florida, and Tokyo.

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
