Disneyland Paris Resort confirmed this month that Colonel Hathi's, a Quick-Service restaurant located in Adventureland, has closed for refurbishment. The restaurant draws its name from Hathi, the elephant character featured in both Walt Disney Animation Studios' The Jungle Book and Rudyard Kipling's original 1894 Mowgli stories that inspired the film.

X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport shared photos on September 10 showing the restaurant now surrounded by wooden construction walls, with a large brown door providing Disney cast member access to the site. The user wrote:

🔧 Colonel Hathi's is now closed for refurbishment until October 15. There's a lot to fix here, especially outside, and maybe we're getting some ordering kiosks.

Signage posted on the construction walls reads, in both French and English:

“This area is being refurbished for your future enjoyment.”

While Disneyland Paris Resort hasn't detailed exactly what changes are coming, European Disney Parks fans have plenty of opinions about what needs fixing. X user @Orbitron92 shared side-by-side photos comparing the restaurant's once-functional waterfall in 1992 to its current state, captioning the post:

It's a shame…

Another user, @grassebiloute, focused on the food itself, commenting:

The menu should also be changed.

Colonel Hathi's currently serves a blend of Indian cuisine staples, including Butter Chicken and Lentil dahl, alongside Mickey Mouse-shaped pizzas and pastas. Whether the restaurant will debut an updated menu when it reopens on October 15, 2026, remains to be seen.
