Starting August 10, 2026, the Minnie and Friends character dining experience at Plaza Inn will be temporarily unavailable. The message Disney posted reads: “The Character Dining experience at Plaza Inn will be temporarily unavailable starting August 10, 2026, and is expected to return in late September.”
No specific date within late September. No explanation for the pause. Just a window and a temporary closure that covers what is genuinely one of Disneyland Park's most beloved dining experiences.

Why Plaza Inn Specifically Hits Different Than Other Character Dining
Before getting into what the pause means practically, it is worth establishing why Plaza Inn holds the position it does in the Disneyland dining conversation. It is not just another character meal.
Plaza Inn regularly hosts seven or eight characters at a single breakfast, which is more than any other character dining location at Disneyland Resort. Upon arrival, guests check in through the app or with the host and meet Minnie Mouse before being seated, with that initial photo opportunity included in the PhotoPass downloads that come with the meal. Complimentary Minnie buttons are given to each member of the party.
