Disney Just Made Resort Hotel Check in a LOT More Complicated

Disneyland Resort just made it a LOT more complicated for guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

According to WDWNT, guests staying at the luxury Disney Resort will now find that the main walkway leading from the pool to the lobby has been blocked off due to ongoing renovations. The change has required visitors to use a side entrance, which may be confusing for those accustomed to the usual check-in process.

As guests make their way from Downtown Disney toward the hotel, they encounter large blue tarps blocking the central walkway, along with planters obstructing alternate paths. Signage directs guests toward the new “Fantasy Tower Lobby,” guiding them to a single glass side door.

Once inside the lobby, Disneyland Hotel guests arrive at the regular check-in and front desk area. A black curtain blocks the main entrance near the small world Gifts & Sundries shop, although the merchandise location is still operating normally.

To access other amenities like The Coffee House, Goofy’s Kitchen, and the Villas at Disneyland Hotel, guests must exit the main lobby area and use the Fantasia Shop as a passageway. A longer walk than usual is required to reach the pool area from the lobby; guests are encouraged to follow the signs and construction barriers for guidance. Other pool entrances remain unaffected.

Disney cast members have confirmed that these changes will remain in effect until at least mid-October 2025. However, Disneyland Resort has not made any official announcements regarding the timeline for resuming normal operations.

A new “Fantasy Tower” sign has been installed above the construction walls, though it remains covered by a plastic tarp. It’s unclear whether other changes will be made in the coming months as the construction continues.
