Disneyland Makes Immediate Resort-Wide Change to Its Food Menus

Another familiar part of the Disneyland experience is getting a makeover.

Food has become an increasingly important part of a Disneyland Resort visit, with Disney regularly rotating seasonal dishes, limited-time snacks, and themed offerings across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

The latest changes arrive during an especially busy stretch. Halloween Time began at the California resort on August 21, bringing another wave of seasonal food and drinks alongside returning attractions, entertainment, and Oogie Boogie Bash.

But this time, the change goes beyond a handful of temporary dishes. Disneyland is altering ingredients used across its restaurants as Disney begins putting a major new corporate partnership into practice.

All macaroni and cheese served across Disneyland Resort has now been switched to Kraft Mac & Cheese, according to new details shared following D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The change affects existing dishes rather than removing mac and cheese from Disneyland menus altogether.

Disneyland Switches Its Mac and Cheese

The change follows a multi-year strategic alliance announced by The Walt Disney Company and Kraft Heinz on July 21. Ten Kraft Heinz brands are set to appear across Disney's U.S. theme parks, Disney Cruise Line, food products, and other experiences.

Kraft Mac & Cheese is becoming the exclusive macaroni and cheese offered at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and aboard Disney Cruise Line ships. Disneyland is the first of those destinations to have already completed the switch across its menus.

That includes more elaborate dishes where macaroni and cheese forms the base of a larger meal. At Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land, for example, the change reportedly applies to the location's mac and cheese cones.

Disney is not necessarily using one identical variety everywhere. Multiple Kraft products, including Deluxe Mac & Cheese and white cheddar varieties, are being incorporated to better match the flavor profiles of the dishes they replace.

Mac and cheese is already spread widely across Disneyland dining. Just last month, Disney highlighted it as one of the resort's staple children's meals, with versions available at locations including Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe.

Disney's official Café Daisy menu also currently lists a children's “Mac and Cheesy,” while Aunt Cass Café offers both a kids' mac and cheese and a larger creamy mac and cheese served inside a sourdough bread bowl.

Carnation Café and River Belle Terrace similarly include mac and cheese among their children's meals. The scale of those offerings means the Kraft deal reaches considerably further than a single new branded dish or snack.

More Disneyland Menu Changes Are Already Underway

Mac and cheese is only one part of the wider overhaul. Philadelphia Cream Cheese is also expected to replace the cream cheese currently used throughout participating Disney destinations, including cream cheese served directly and incorporated into recipes.

Heinz products are becoming more visible, too. New condiment dispensers have already appeared at Disneyland Resort, including units serving ketchup, ranch, and barbecue sauce at Smokejumpers Grill inside Disney California Adventure.

As previewed at D23, Heinz products are beginning to roll out to the Disney Parks. Edelweiss Snacks has already been switched over, with other locations (such as Red Rose Taverne) to follow in the coming days.

Additional Heinz products are expected to follow. Brauhaus Mustard, which was previewed during D23, is among the sauces reportedly heading into the parks as Disney expands the partnership.

Eventually, physical menus are expected to identify dishes as featuring brands such as Kraft, Heinz, and Philadelphia, making the partnership considerably more visible to Disneyland guests than a behind-the-scenes supplier change.

Disney and Kraft Heinz originally described the agreement as spanning foodservice, media, events, and other areas. The companies also announced custom Heinz equipment and condiment stations for Disney destinations when revealing the alliance in July.
