A Disneyland Paris day often begins beneath Paris, with families carrying backpacks and mouse ears onto an eastbound RER A train. Under normal conditions, that train delivers them directly to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, steps from Disney Village and the entrances to both theme parks.
For the next two weeks, that familiar journey will not work as usual.
RER A service is now interrupted between Vincennes and Noisy-le-Grand–Mont d’Est, breaking the direct rail connection between central Paris and Disneyland Paris. The closure began Saturday, August 8, and is scheduled to continue through Sunday, August 23, 2026, inclusive.
Disneyland Paris has not closed, and Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy station remains served from the eastern side of the interruption. However, guests coming from Paris can no longer remain aboard one RER A train for the entire journey.
RER A Closure Breaks the Direct Disneyland Paris Journey
The RATP’s current construction schedule confirms that no RER A trains will operate through the affected section at any time during the 16-day closure. Work is being performed around the clock between Vincennes and Noisy-le-Grand–Mont d’Est.
Crews are renewing track, ballast and four sets of points while also carrying out drainage work. RATP says concentrating the heavier work into a continuous summer interruption avoids stretching the project across a much longer series of overnight closures.
This is therefore a scheduled infrastructure project—not an emergency shutdown or a Disneyland Paris operational decision.
Inside the Magic first reported the planned August interruption in April. Its arrival now turns an advance warning into an immediate vacation-planning issue, particularly for guests staying in Paris rather than at a Disneyland Paris hotel.
Île-de-France Mobilités advises passengers traveling between Paris and stations including Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy to avoid the RER A route when possible. From the Disney station, the agency recommends buses 2223 or 2261 toward Esbly or Lagny–Thorigny, where travelers can connect with other rail services.
Replacement buses also operate around the closed RER A section. That option preserves a path across the gap, but it introduces transfers and road travel into what is normally a direct rail journey.
Nation Station Creates a Second Complication
Visitors should not assume they can simply begin the replacement journey at Nation.
RER A trains are not stopping at Nation from June 29 through August 30 because of separate station-renovation work. Metro lines 1, 2, 6 and 9 continue serving Nation, but passengers cannot board or leave an RER A train there during this period.
The official transport plan identifies additional alternatives through the RER E and Transilien Line P. Those options carry their own limitation: both lines face evening interruptions, with final trains on affected sections generally operating between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
That timing matters because Disneyland Paris adjusted both parks’ closing times beginning August 8. Guests staying through the evening should check their return route before entering the parks, rather than attempting to solve the journey after nighttime entertainment ends.
Travelers should use the Île-de-France Mobilités or SNCF Connect journey planners on the day of travel. The best alternative can depend on the starting station, departure time and whether the journey is toward or away from Disneyland Paris.
Disneyland Paris Remains Reachable—But Allow More Time
RER A service continues between Noisy-le-Grand–Mont d’Est and Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, although official planning documents indicate trains on that eastern portion are running roughly every nine minutes instead of every seven minutes.
The practical consequence is not the loss of rail access to Disneyland Paris. It is the loss of the simple, direct trip that makes staying in central Paris attractive to many visitors.
The disruption also has precedent. A 2023 RER A closure affected Disneyland Paris transportation, but that interruption covered a different and shorter section between Nation and Val de Fontenay. The 2026 project stretches farther east and coincides with the separate closure of the RER A platforms at Nation.
Rail access has become increasingly important for international visitors since the direct Eurostar service to Disneyland Paris ended in 2023. For visits through August 23, guests should build extra time into both directions, avoid tight dining or train reservations and confirm the final connection before leaving Paris or the resort. Replacement service exists, but a Paris hotel door and Disneyland Park’s turnstiles are temporarily farther apart than the map suggests.
