Disneyland Resort has laid out its complete plan for the 2026 Christmas season, and the Happiest Place on Earth is once again pulling out all the stops. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year runs from November 13, 2026, through January 6, 2027, transforming both theme parks, the Disney Resort hotels, and the Downtown Disney District into a full-blown winter celebration.
Disneyland Park's Christmas Transformation
Guests entering Disneyland Park will immediately spot the towering 60-foot Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A., with a snow-dusted Sleeping Beauty Castle glowing each night under roughly 80,000 lights.
Character encounters are getting a refresh this year. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends will greet guests in Town Square wearing new outfits inspired by holiday travel and alpine gatherings. Santa Claus, meanwhile, has relocated from his usual Fantasyland Theatre spot — now home to Bluey's Best Day Ever — to a new location elsewhere in the park.
Returning entertainment includes the “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” with reserved seating available through a Plaza Inn dining package, and the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks show above Sleeping Beauty Castle. The nighttime spectacular will also use “it's a small world” Holiday, Rivers of America, and Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle as backdrops, with nightly “snowfall” at all three locations, plus on Main Street, U.S.A.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, based on The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), has already returned to New Orleans Square. And “it's a small world” Holiday comes back covered in roughly 400,000 lights, complete with a Santa hat on the attraction's clock face and festive music inside.
For guests wanting a deeper dive into the season, the ticketed Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour returns as well, offering historical context on Walt Disney's holiday traditions and reserved viewing of the “A Christmas Fantasy Parade.” Booking details are expected later this year.
Disney California Adventure Park Joins the Celebration
Buena Vista Street will feature its own meet-and-greets with Mickey Mouse and friends in holiday attire, while Santa Claus greets Disney Park guests at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which converts into a seasonal playground for kids.
“World of Color – Season of Light” is returning to Disney California Adventure Park after sitting out the 2025 season, with dining package details to come. Other entertainment includes the Holiday Toy Drummers, who perform in Paradise Gardens Park before joining Mickey and friends in Hollywood Land for the “Mickey's Happy Holidays” cavalcade.
Select days will bring “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!” featuring the Coco (2017) character, along with “Mirabel's Gift of the Seasons,” starring the Encanto (2021) character in Paradise Gardens Park. Disney ¡Viva Navidad! also returns with a street party celebrating Latin American holiday traditions, featuring the Three Caballeros, folklórico dancers, mariachis, and samba performers, along with a holiday-themed appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Cars Land gets its own “Haul-iday” makeover with festive decor and a nightly “Sh-boom” transition moment, plus two ride overlays: Luigi's Joy to the Whirl and Mater's Jingle Jamboree.
Food lovers can look forward to the Disney Festival of Holidays, featuring six marketplaces and the return of the Sip and Savor Pass for discounted food and beverage redemptions.
Holiday Fun Beyond the Parks
The celebration extends well past the theme park gates. Every Disneyland Resort hotel lobby will feature a Christmas tree, and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa adds a seven-foot gingerbread display shaped after the hotel itself. Guests not visiting the parks can still meet Santa at the Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Themed dining experiences include Goofy's Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays! at the Disneyland Hotel and both Mickey's Christmas Carol Feast and Daisy's Holiday Pajama Party at Storytellers Cafe. Additional holiday menu items will show up at the Great Hall cart, Broken Spell Lounge, and Great Maple Modern American Eatery. Guests looking to unwind can also book seasonal spa treatments at Tenaya Stone Spa, including the Naughty or Nice foot treatment and the Underneath the Tree massage.
Travelers eyeing a holiday trip can also save 20% on stays at the Southern California Disney Resort hotels between October and December 2026.
Downtown Disney District Gets Festive
Starting November 23, the Downtown Disney District joins the celebration with nightly snowfall, seasonal food and drinks, and live entertainment at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. From November 11 through January 6, 2027, guests can also pick up an activity map to complete Chip and Dale's Ornament Trail and earn a keepsake ornament upon completion.
New Merchandise and Menu Items
Shoppers can expect several new collections this season, including the Mickey Mouse and Family Christmas Collection, the Holiday Pastel Collection, and the Disney Vintage Holiday Collection, available at select locations throughout the resort.
On the food side, Disney has already confirmed items like the Mickey Elf Shake at Schmoozies! and the Milk and Cookies Tree-shaped Macaron at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, with more announcements expected as the season approaches.
Guests can also snag the Mickey Train Light Up Popcorn Bucket and the Holiday Stitch Christmas Tree Sipper, though exact locations for those items haven't been confirmed yet.
