Halloween at Disneyland Resort rewards the guest who plans early. Costumes must be chosen, hotel rooms secured, and travel dates coordinated long before the first treat trail opens inside Disney California Adventure.
For guests hoping to fit Oogie Boogie Bash into a traditional weekend trip, that planning window has narrowed again.
A 10th Oogie Boogie Bash event has sold out, according to a July 31 availability update documented by MousePlanet. The latest change leaves Sunday, August 30, as the only remaining Sunday party offered to the general public in 2026. Sunday, September 27, also appears on Disney’s event calendar, but that date is reserved for D23 members and their guests.
The distinction matters. Oogie Boogie Bash itself is not close to selling out on every date, but guests who cannot attend on a Tuesday or Thursday now have almost no flexibility on a regular weekend.
Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash Reaches 10 Sold-Out Events
The newest unavailable event appears to be Sunday, September 20. Just one day earlier, Inside the Magic documented nine sold-out Oogie Boogie Bash nights, and September 20 remained on the available list at that time.
With the latest change, the 10 unavailable dates are:
- Sunday, August 23
- Sunday, September 6
- Sunday, September 13
- Sunday, September 20
- Thursday, September 24
- Sunday, October 4
- Sunday, October 11
- Sunday, October 18
- Sunday, October 25
- Saturday, October 31
That list reveals the real story. Eight of the 10 sold-out events fall on Sundays, while another is Halloween night—the only Saturday party on the calendar. Thursday, September 24, remains the sole sold-out weekday.
Disneyland has not published attendance capacity or ticket-sale totals for individual events, so the unavailable calendar cannot establish how many people purchased tickets. It does show where availability has disappeared first.
Earlier updates recorded the progression from six sold-out Oogie Boogie Bash nights to eight unavailable events by July 29. The movement has overwhelmingly favored Sundays.
August 30 Is the Final Public Sunday
Disneyland’s official Oogie Boogie Bash information lists August 30 tickets at $159 per guest aged three or older. Children two and younger do not need a ticket.
The event ticket provides admission to Disney California Adventure beginning at 3 p.m., three hours before the party starts. Oogie Boogie Bash then runs from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. A separate daytime park ticket or theme park reservation is not required for entry at 3 p.m. or later.
For working adults and families managing school calendars, Sunday can be considerably easier to build into a short Disneyland trip than a midweek party. August 30 now carries that burden alone for general buyers.
September 27 does not provide a conventional alternative. Disney identifies that evening as a special event exclusively for D23 members and their guests, with tickets handled through D23 rather than the normal general-public pool.
Guests considering August 30 should also remember that tickets are date-specific, nonrefundable and cannot be commercially resold. Disney says tickets are unavailable at the gate on the day of the event. Parking is not included, and Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Premier Pass and Single Pass are unavailable during party hours.
A Longer Oogie Boogie Bash Season Still Has Limits
Disneyland expanded Oogie Boogie Bash to 33 event nights for 2026, its longest schedule to date. The season begins August 18 and continues through October 31.
That larger calendar gives guests more overall opportunities, particularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It has not prevented the practical weekend inventory from contracting more than two weeks before opening night.
The party also carries a substantial entertainment change. Frightfully Fun Parade will not perform in 2026 while construction affects Disney California Adventure. Disneyland is instead introducing Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, a Haunted Mansion-inspired street party. Returning offerings include Villains Grove, immersive treat trails, Halloween character experiences and seasonal attraction overlays such as Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree.
Guests whose vacation dates are flexible still have numerous midweek choices. Those committed to a Sunday face a simpler, less comfortable decision: purchase August 30 while Disney still lists inventory or rearrange the trip around a Tuesday or Thursday.
Disney has not said how many August 30 tickets remain. Availability can change without advance notice, making the official purchase calendar—not an older screenshot or social-media list—the final check before flights and hotel reservations are locked in.
