Disney's Animal Kingdom guests have been buzzing about Jumping Junction ever since the new habitat quietly began welcoming visitors. For now, only a limited number of guests are able to enter the experience, but Disney says much larger plans are already in motion.

The company recently confirmed that the current version of Jumping Junction is only a temporary phase. Eventually, Disney hopes to allow all guests to walk through the habitat and share the space with kangaroos and wallabies as they explore the attraction.
That's a significant shift from how the experience operates today.
What Guests Experience Right Now
Currently, access is tightly controlled.
Small groups are escorted through the habitat by members of Disney's animal care team. Guests receive instructions before entering and spend several minutes walking along the pathway while observing the animals nearby.
The limited-capacity operation isn't about crowd control as much as it's about training.

Disney is using this period to help the animals become comfortable with people moving through their environment. Rather than setting a strict schedule, animal care experts are allowing the kangaroos and wallabies to gradually adapt to their new surroundings.
That means the animals themselves are helping determine when the next phase can begin.
Why Disney Is Expanding the Experience
The long-term vision appears to be creating one of the most immersive animal encounters anywhere at Walt Disney World.
Animal Kingdom has always focused on bringing guests closer to wildlife, but Jumping Junction takes that concept further by placing visitors directly inside the habitat. While guests will still be expected to follow rules and respect the animals, the experience offers a perspective that traditional exhibits simply can't match.

It's the type of attraction that fits perfectly with Animal Kingdom's mission of connecting people with animals and conservation efforts.
Meet the Kangaroos and Wallabies
The habitat is currently home to several Australian species, including Western Grey Kangaroos, Red Kangaroos, and Red-necked Wallabies. Disney notes that several kangaroos are carrying joeys, adding another interesting element for guests fortunate enough to visit during this early period.

The experience also serves as a nod to the Australian themes associated with Bluey's Wild World, which has become one of the park's newest additions.
Waiting for the Green Light
As exciting as Disney's plans sound, guests may need a little patience.
The company has not provided a target date for opening the habitat to everyone. Instead, Disney says the expansion will happen only when the animals show they are comfortable with larger numbers of visitors.
That animal-first approach may slow the process, but it should ultimately help create a better experience for both guests and wildlife.
When full access eventually arrives, Jumping Junction could become one of the most talked-about experiences at Disney's Animal Kingdom, offering visitors a chance to step into the same space as some of Australia's most iconic animals.
