Disney’s Beach Club, Yacht Club, and BoardWalk All Impacted by Ongoing Construction

One of the biggest advantages of staying in Disney's EPCOT resort area has always been convenience.

Guests can walk to EPCOT, stroll over to Disney's Hollywood Studios, enjoy waterfront views, and stay within easy reach of some of Walt Disney World's best restaurants. That's why Beach Club, Yacht Club, and BoardWalk remain among the most sought-after resorts on property.

Right now, however, visitors should expect a little extra construction mixed into that experience.

Across all three resorts, Disney is tackling a variety of refurbishment projects that will continue for months and, in some cases, years.

At Beach Club, exterior work remains ongoing and is expected to continue through late 2027. Guests may encounter construction walls, scaffolding, and occasional pathway adjustments while crews complete maintenance on the building's exterior.

Yacht Club is experiencing a similar project. Exterior refurbishment continues through late 2026, and one of the resort's most popular restaurants is currently unavailable. Yachtsman Steakhouse remains closed for refurbishment, leaving Disney fans waiting for the signature dining location to return later this summer.

While those projects are certainly noticeable, BoardWalk is where the most dramatic changes are unfolding.

The resort has become a hub of ongoing construction and redevelopment. Exterior work remains active, but multiple former entertainment and dining venues are also awaiting new futures.

The departure of Jellyrolls marked the end of a major era for BoardWalk nightlife. For years, the dueling piano bar attracted crowds looking for live entertainment after a day in the parks. Today, the space sits behind construction activity while Disney works on future plans.

The former Big River Grille & Brewing Works location is another space generating attention. The restaurant closed more than two years ago and has remained empty since then. New permits suggest movement may finally be happening, though Disney has not revealed what guests can expect.

The closure of Promenade Fine Art Gallery has added another vacant storefront to the district. Combined with the other projects, it's clear that BoardWalk is in the middle of a substantial transformation.

The changes won't stop there. Beginning in January 2027, Luna Park Pool and several nearby amenities will temporarily close for refurbishment. Guests will still have access to alternate pools, but the closure will affect one of the resort's most recognizable recreation areas.

Meanwhile, the Disney Skyliner is scheduled for its yearly maintenance period in January 2027. While replacement buses will operate during the closure, many EPCOT-area guests rely heavily on Skyliner transportation.

For longtime Disney fans, the amount of activity around Crescent Lake is remarkable. Construction walls, restaurant closures, transportation adjustments, and future projects are all happening simultaneously.

The EPCOT resort area remains one of the best places to stay at Walt Disney World, but there's no question that guests visiting over the next year will witness one of the most significant periods of change the district has experienced in recent memory.
