Big things are brewing in Adventureland. Disney is quietly preparing a refresh that could reshape the land’s personality, attractions, and overall energy. While the whole overhaul isn’t public yet, the confirmed updates and swirling rumors hint at one of the most ambitious overhauls Magic Kingdom has seen in years.
It’s an exciting moment for a land that has stayed mostly the same for decades.

Magic Kingdom Is in Makeover Mode
Adventureland’s updates are part of a much bigger transformation across the park.
Frontierland is being reshaped to make way for new experiences.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is in the middle of a long-running closure for remodeling until 2026.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin began a refurbishment period on August 4.
Villains Land is gaining traction with rumors of immersive villain-themed environments, theorized to open close to 2030.
Piston Peak is on the horizon, inspired by Planes: Fire & Rescue.
Adventureland’s changes are designed to fit seamlessly into this new Magic Kingdom era.

Beak and Barrel Tavern: A First for Adventureland
Coming later this summer, the Beak and Barrel Tavern will be the land’s first-ever dedicated lounge. Reservations go live the week before, with the grand opening on August 29.
It will feel like a pirate’s favorite port stop, featuring nautical décor, lantern lighting, and a menu of tropical drinks and shareable bites. It’s not just a bar—it’s a new hangout spot that immerses guests in pirate lore without needing to board a boat.

A NEW Voyage on the Horizon
The other big buzz? A possible Moana-themed boat ride that could become Adventureland’s next signature attraction. While Disney hasn’t confirmed it, the rumor has been building momentum among fans for months.
If it happens, guests could enter a Polynesian-inspired canoe and set sail on an epic voyage across dazzling ocean scenes. Along the way, they might encounter Maui, dodge Kakamora rafts, pass through glowing, bioluminescent waters, and face a dramatic showdown with Te Kā before restoring the heart of Te Fiti.
Using a mix of animatronics, projection mapping, and water effects, this attraction could blend the charm of a classic boat ride with the stunning visuals of modern Disney storytelling—while giving Adventureland a major new draw for the next generation of parkgoers.

The Adventure Ahead
With the Beak and Barrel Tavern adding a fresh social space and the possibility of a Moana-inspired boat ride, Adventureland is gearing up for a transformation that blends its nostalgic charm with bold new experiences. For fans, that means the land will soon feel both comfortingly familiar and thrillingly new—precisely the kind of balance Disney does best.
