Sorry Disney fans… it looks like those of us that were hoping to catch a ride on Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover this Easter will have to keep waiting. PeopleMover has been “Temporarily Unavailable” for some time now as noted “Closed for Refurbishment” on the Walt Disney World website. And once again, the refurbishment has been extended.
As of yesterday (March 30), Disney’s refurbishment calendar showed PeopleMover listed as closed for refurbishment through Saturday, April 3. On Easter Sunday, April 4, PeopleMover was removed from the calendar which we were hoping meant great news. On the flip side, the PeopleMover attraction page did not have hours listed for Sunday, April 4. So, while we were extremely hopeful the refurbishment calendar was showing good signs – today we awoke to find the refurbishment has once again been extended.

Currently, the refurbishment calendar has PeopleMover closed through April 30th. The attraction is then removed from the calendar on May 1st. While Disney has not released the refurbishment details, it is rumored Disney is replacing the magnetic linear induction motors. Hang in there Disney fans… we’re hoping we’ll be able to cruise along on the PeopleMover soon enough!
