Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park faces another multi-day closure just days after reopening from its latest weather-related shutdown. The Central Florida water park will operate on Friday, January 30, before closing again from Saturday through Monday, February 2, as freezing temperatures continue to plague the region.
Brief Friday Opening Before Weekend Closure

Walt Disney World Resort updated its website on January 28, confirming that Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park reopens Friday, January 30, for one day of operation before entering another three-day shutdown. Weather forecasts predict another freezing weekend in Central Florida with wind chills dropping into the teens.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon has experienced repeated closures throughout January due to unseasonably cold temperatures in the Sunshine State. The water park reopened from a multi-day closure on January 26 but shut down again on January 27, remaining closed through January 29. Friday's 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. operating hours represent a brief window before the weekend closure.

Saturday, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon closes again and stays shuttered through Monday, February 2. The park is currently scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, February 3, though that date could change if freezing temperatures persist.
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed for annual refurbishment and remains unaffected by weather conditions.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Refurbishment in February

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park enters its annual refurbishment on February 15, 2026, when Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park reopens. Saturday, February 14, is the final operating day before the seasonal maintenance period.
Work has already begun on a major component of the refurbishment: rebuilding the Humunga Kowabunga waterslide. The attraction is currently closed, with permits filed listing a contractor known for waterslide reconstruction at Walt Disney World Resort. A judge recently dismissed a lawsuit against Disney over a “painful wedgie” on the slide that allegedly caused lasting internal injuries.
Simultaneous Water Park Operations This Summer

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will operate simultaneously from May 26 through September 8, 2026. This marks the second consecutive summer Walt Disney World Resort has run both water parks concurrently—2025 was the first time since 2019.
During “Cool Kid Summer,” Disney Resort hotel guests receive complimentary water park admission on check-in day.
