A report of an endangered missing person brought law enforcement to Disney Springs on Monday afternoon, while crowds filled the Walt Disney World Resort shopping, dining, and entertainment district for the Columbus Day holiday.
The 911 Call

The Orange County Sheriff's Office received the call at 2:24 p.m. on October 12. Central Florida law enforcement tracking account @WDWActiveCrime shared the scanner details on X (formerly known as Twitter), posting:
🚨 Police Alert 🚓 – 10/12/26 2:24 PM

A Google Maps screenshot attached to the post marks a spot at the center of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district. That pin is probably not where the report actually came from. Law enforcement commonly logs emergency responses at Disney Springs under that same address, rather than at the exact location of a call.
What Isn't Known

Neither the Orange County Sheriff's Office nor Walt Disney World Resort has commented on the response, and no information has been released about the missing person. It is unclear whether that person was a cast member, a theme park guest, or someone unconnected to the resort who was simply passing through.
If the person is located, authorities are unlikely to share their identity unless criminal charges are filed. Police may release a name or description if they think the public could help find someone who is still missing.
Impact on Guests

Disney Springs continued operating normally despite the emergency response. Walt Disney World Resort guests can stick with their planned vacation itineraries. Anyone who encounters a security or law enforcement response on Disney property should follow the instructions of authorities and/or cast members on the scene.
