Candice Wash, a Walt Disney World Resort guest, posted the alarming footage to Facebook, showing Disney cast members rushing to contain the fire. In the video, thick smoke billows from the popcorn cart as cast members work quickly to secure the area and extinguish the flames.

Fire at EPCOT!” Wash wrote. “Popcorn cart caught fire near Figment this morning!”

The video clearly shows a slight orange glow at the start, which soon turned into black smoke. Fortunately, the fire was swiftly managed, and by the time reporters from WDWNT arrived, Disney cast members had already ensured the safety of the area. The scene was under control, and no injuries were reported.

Photos shared by WDWNT show Disney cast members holding fire extinguishers near the damaged popcorn kiosk. Smoke stains visibly damaged the kiosk’s glass window, where guests typically view various popcorn flavors. The upper section of the cart, including its ventilation area, also showed clear signs of smoke damage. The rest of the kiosk remained mostly untouched.

After the fire was dealt with, Disney cast members reopened the right side of the kiosk, which serves frozen treats and bottled beverages. However, the popcorn section of the cart was closed off to guests with temporary stanchions. For now, EPCOT guests can no longer purchase popcorn at this location while Disney assesses the full extent of the fire damage.

Walt Disney World Resort has yet to issue an official statement about the fire or its cause. The kiosk’s reopening date remains uncertain.
