EPCOT is unveiling a brand-new, family-friendly attraction just in time for the International Food & Wine Festival, opening on August 28, 2025. In just three days, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a limited-time interactive experience that’s set to bring even more magic for the Disney park’s youngest visitors.
On August 25, WDWNT reported that Disney cast members were putting the finishing touches on a play area located in a flex space in the World Discovery neighborhood near Creations Shop. This space debuted earlier this year and hosted a Stormalong Bay-inspired play area during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
On Monday morning, Disney Park guests noticed cast members installing log-shaped tunnels, mushroom steps, and acorn seats in the newly designed play area. Even the posts that hold up fabric shades have been decorated with tree-themed decor featuring woodland creatures, tying it all together with the nearby Harvest Hallow festival area.
The Harvest Hallow food area was introduced at the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. This Global Marketplace area features Quick Service kiosks like Forest & Field, Milled & Mulled, and Bramblewood Bites, as well as festive decorations like gourds, barrels, and plants. At the heart of it all is a new character, Squirrel, who takes pride in caring for these seasonal plants.
This year, Walt Disney World Resort is expanding on the Harvest Hallow lore with a sign that reads:
Squirrel loves to farm and gather
in the forest and the field.
With every passing harvest,
greater grows his yield!At every county fair
he snatches up first prize.
His ambition’s never-ending
as is his enterprise.
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will run from August 28 to November 22, 2025. Kiosks featuring limited-time food offerings will be available throughout EPCOT, so there’s plenty for guests to explore as they take in all that the festival has to offer.
