Walt Disney World Resort just revealed more about its highly anticipated adults-only lounge at EPCOT, which is set to open later this year. The lounge, named GEO-82, will be located inside the iconic Spaceship Earth, offering guests an upscale experience with stunning views of the World Celebration gardens and World Showcase Lagoon.
The announcement comes after Disney Parks first introduced the concept for two new attraction-themed lounges at D23 Expo 2024. One of the lounges, GEO-82, will take over the former Siemens lounge above Project Tomorrow, while the second will bring a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom Park. Both locations are under construction and are expected to welcome guests this year.
While details about the new lounges have been limited, a March 17 update from Disney Parks Blog introduced the name of the EPCOT lounge and shared some exciting hints about what’s to come. Mallory Heinz Ladet, a Public Relations Manager for Disney, teased the experience at GEO-82, saying:
“Can you name a place at Walt Disney World where you can spend an elegant time indulging in modern cocktails, taking in views of sprawling World Celebration gardens and World Showcase Lagoon from inside a world-famous icon? I can – and that place is GEO-82, the all-new lounge coming to EPCOT.”
The name GEO-82 is a nod to Spaceship Earth’s distinct geometric sphere, and the year EPCOT opened—1982. As for the lounge’s design, Disney promises it will be a stunning, immersive experience with decor inspired by the iconic architecture of Spaceship Earth.
“This lounge will be the ultimate spot to toast to a trip around EPCOT with innovative cocktails and globally influenced small plates while you take in spectacular park views,” Ladet continued. “With this new lounge, you’ll feel like you’re discovering an all-new part of Spaceship Earth – GEO-82 will surround you with iconic shapes and intricate structures inspired by the park’s instantly-recognizable icon. You’ll sit amid rich textures and warm, metallic tones that echo Spaceship Earth in an elegant and intimate setting.”
In addition to its exclusive, immersive atmosphere, GEO-82 will be an adults-only (21+) venue. Due to its limited capacity, advance reservations will be required. As of now, the lounge will not accept the Disney Dining Plan.
While an exact opening date has yet to be revealed, Disney promises more details on the lounge’s offerings—including its signature drinks and bites—will be shared soon.
