Beginning August 19, 2025, Epic Universe will adopt new operating hours, opening at 10 a.m. and closing at 9 p.m. For the last few weeks, the park has maintained hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
However, starting mid-August, Epic Universe will close an hour earlier. This reduction has raised concerns among guests, especially when comparing operating hours with Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, both of which typically operate from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on most days in August. As a result, many guests have expressed disappointment, feeling that they miss out on precious time to explore the park's attractions and unique experiences.
The reasons for the shortened hours are not just a matter of scheduling but rather involve operational challenges the park has faced since its opening. Since Epic Universe opened its gates in May, guests have noted that reliability is crucial for the new attractions, especially for rides like the Harry Potter-themed experiences.
These rides had been notorious for extended downtimes and abrupt closures during the preview periods. Although many of these issues seem to have been addressed, the park may still be working out some operational kinks. Such challenges could explain why Universal has opted to limit the hours during a critical adjustment phase, ensuring that rides are fully functional and guests can have a satisfactory experience.

Despite the reduced hours, Epic Universe still offers a plethora of unique themed areas that captivate visitors. Among the highlights is the Dark Universe section, inspired by classic Universal monsters. This area presents guests with immersive experiences, blending nostalgia with modern thrills. The park also features the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, boasting the newly enhanced Ministry of Magic, filled with various interactive experiences.
Two standout attractions within the park are “Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment” and “Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.” The former takes guests through a gothic castle on a stunning dark ride, while the latter offers a thrilling adventure set in the magical Ministry of Magic. Both rides have garnered attention for their creativity and immersive storytelling, making them must-try experiences for any visitor.
Dining experiences within Epic Universe also deserve mention. The park features a variety of culinary options, allowing guests to enjoy diverse flavors and themed eateries reflecting the whimsical spirit of the park. Guests find themselves not just passing through, but rather delving into different worlds filled with exciting tastes and atmospheres.
The initial impressions and reviews from early visitors have been predominantly positive. Many guests have been thrilled to explore the new park and its attractions, appreciating the attention to detail and creativity present throughout the themed areas. However, some have made suggestions for improvements. One common piece of feedback revolves around the desire for extended hours to maximize the experience. With the park's vast offerings, guests are eager to spend more time exploring each enchanting corner.
