EXTREME Hollywood Studios – 30 Things You Must Do At This Disney Park

Hollywood Studios

Even though a lot of attractions have been shut down recently and the rumors about a Star Wars Land being constructed and an expansion to Pixar Place, there is still much to enjoy at Hollywood Studios from rope drop until closing time. Here is our list of 30 things you must do at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

30 – Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine – this character buffet features characters from Disney Junior, so it is popular with kids, but they serve a great variety of breakfast food and is exactly the fuel you need for your day at Hollywood Studios.

29 – Tower of Terror – one of the three rides that you will want to get a FastPass for, but if you get to the park at rope drop, you may be able to ride Tower of Terror a few times before the line gets out of control.

28 – Rock and Roller Coaster – much like Tower of Terror, hit this ride a couple of times in the morning before the line gets prohibitively long. You can use a FastPass for it, but it is in the same tier as Toy Story Midway Mania, so choose carefully. Also, take advantage of the single riders line.

27 – The Writer’s Shop – located at the end of Commissary Lane, this wonderful little coffee shop offers some great treats and coffee and some specialty Disney books.

26 – Check out the new Starbucks – at the intersection of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards, the newest Starbucks serves all of your favorites. It is also the only location in Hollywood Studios where you can purchase your specialty Disney Parks coffee mug.

25 – Mickey’s of Hollywood and Keystone Clothiers – two of my favorite shopping locations in the Disney parks, these two locations offer some great souvenirs. If you are staying on property, be sure to take advantage of package delivery so you don’t have to carry around your purchases all day!

24 – Tune-In Lounge – located in 50’s Prime Time CafΓ©, this wonderful lounge is available to guests even if they are dining at the restaurants. Enjoy a nice cold adult drink and the vintage decorations.

23 – Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular – always a must do when at the Studios! Make sure to check your Times Guide on when the shows are happening and get there early if you want to be a part of the show!

22 – Star Tours – The Adventure Continues – with over 50 different ride variations for you to experience, almost every ride can be different! Bonus – the line rarely exceeds 30 minutes.

21 – Tatooine Traders – located at the exit of Star Tours, this gift shop allows young Jedis to build their own lightsaber and find some specialty Star Wars merchandise!

20 – Star Wars Weekends (mid-May to mid-June) – every weekend between mid-May and mid-June, Hollywood Studios becomes overrun with Stormtroopers and members of the Rebel Alliance. It is a great way to start your summer and to find some amazing collectibles!

19 – Great Movie Ride – no longer hidden behind the Sorcerer’s Hat, this classic attraction takes you through some of the greatest films in movie history. And the recent partnership with TCM has led to some improvements already with more to come!

16 – Lights, Motors, Action! – this stunt show showcases the behind-the-scenes movie magic with stunt cars. Much like Indiana Jones, check your Times Guide – the number of shows depends on the crowd level in the park.

15 – 50s Prime Time CafΓ© – only classic dishes that would show up on your mother’s table are served at this restaurant. Be sure to try the fried chicken and the peanut butter and jelly milkshake!

14 – Sci-Fi Dine-In – by far, my favorite restaurant on Disney property. Classic picnic fare served up with kitchy, B-rated sci-fi movies! Try the picnic burger – it’s the best!

13 – The Magic of Disney Animation – learn the secrets behind Disney animation, meet some of your favorite animated characters, AND get to learn to draw a character? What’s not to enjoy?

11 – Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner – located in Echo Lake, this food stand serves some delicious, delicious snacks that are certainly worth the wait.

10 – Toy Story Midway Mania – the most popular ride at Hollywood Studios, be sure to ride this first thing or use one of your FastPasses for this attraction. You’ll be glad that you did!

9 – Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure – a perfect area to let some of the smaller members of your party to burn off some excess energy.

8 – Sweet Spells – this baked goods store offers some sweet treats for you to enjoy. It is easy to miss, so be sure to stop by – it is located at the entrance to Sunset Boulevard.
