Sorcerer Mickey traumatized thousands of Disney Park guests when he temporarily lost control of his costume head during Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. One Walt Disney World Resort guest shared a video of the incident on TikTok.
Disney Parks fans know that there is only one Mickey Mouse, who moves seamlessly between Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. As adults, though, most of us also know that human cast members help bring the character to life with intricate choreography and costume mastery.

During this particular performance of Fantasmic!, many young audience members undoubtedly saw the truth behind the Disney magic. In a video posted on TikTok by @user75775674346, the Sorcerer Mickey performer’s head slipped off just after defeating Maleficent and taking back his imagination. Fortunately, the performer quickly regained control of the costume head before it fell to the stage or off the elevated platform.

Seconds later, pyrotechnics erupted as part of Mickey Mouse’s magical disappearing act, and the show continued seamlessly. The Disney character performer successfully snapped the head back into place and completed the choreography without further incident.
Because Mickey Mouse is positioned far from the audience at this point in the show, many guests likely did not notice the mishap. Still, from now on, this Disney character performer will probably double-check that their costume is secure before going onstage!

Despite the minor hiccup, Fantasmic! continued without interruption.
