After YEARS of waiting, Disneyland Paris is finally getting the massive expansion it desperately needs, and the transformation is happening way faster than most people expected.

On March 29, 2025, Walt Disney Studios Park officially becomes Disney Adventure World, and this isn't just a name change. We're talking about a COMPLETE park reimagining with the brand-new World of Frozen land, tons of new dining, new attractions, new entertainment, and promises of even more coming with a future Lion King land.
If you've ever visited Disneyland Paris and felt like Walt Disney Studios Park was kind of underwhelming compared to the main Disneyland Park, you're not alone. The park has struggled since it opened in 2002 to feel like a full-day destination worth the ticket price. It's always been the park people do in half a day before heading back to Disneyland Park or calling it quits entirely. But Disney Adventure World aims to completely change that perception with additions that actually give guests reasons to spend entire days there, multiple restaurants so you're not scrambling for food, and entertainment that keeps you in the park through evening instead of leaving after lunch. The March 29 debut represents Disney finally admitting that the studio backlot concept never worked for European audiences the way it does in Florida, and rather than trying to force that theme to work, they're pivoting to adventure and storytelling approaches that have broader appeal regardless of whether guests care about Hollywood movie production.

The Park Gets a Total Identity Makeover
Disney Adventure World will feature five distinct lands with an enhanced entrance that lets you step onto red carpets leading to World Premiere Plaza, where Disney and Pixar stories come to life through shows, attractions, and character meet-and-greets.
This is a BIG deal because Walt Disney Studios Park never had a cohesive identity. It was just kind of a mess of different areas that didn't connect thematically. Disney Adventure World promises actual organization and theming that makes sense as you move through the park.
World of Frozen Is the HUGE Headliner
The new World of Frozen land is basically the star of this whole transformation, and it's pulling inspiration from the Hong Kong Disneyland version, which is absolutely gorgeous.
Frozen Ever After: The boat ride that exists at EPCOT, Tokyo DisneySea, and Hong Kong Disneyland is coming to Disneyland Paris. You'll float through scenes from the movie with animatronics and effects bringing the story to life.
Meet Anna and Elsa: “Rencontre Royal” inside Arendelle Castle lets you meet the sisters in elaborately themed rooms featuring family portraits and design pulled straight from the films. They even recreated famous artwork like “The Swing” in Frozen style.
Roaming Olaf: An animatronic Olaf will wander around the land interacting with guests, which is going to be adorable and probably create massive crowds wherever he appears.
Viking Longship Show: A daytime show staged on Viking longships in Arendelle Bay provides entertainment beyond just rides and meet-and-greets.
The whole land is supposed to be vibrant and immersive with tons of photo opportunities, which is exactly what Disneyland Paris needed to compete with other European attractions and justify the trip for international visitors.
The Dining Expansion Is MASSIVE
One of the biggest complaints about Walt Disney Studios Park has always been limited dining options. Disney Adventure World is fixing that in a huge way.
Nordic Crowns Tavern (World of Frozen quick-service):
- Lunch and dinner
- Customizable Nordic-inspired cuisine
- 16 possible combinations starting with bases like mashed potatoes or quinoa
- Proteins including grilled salmon and Nordic meatballs
- Seasonal veggies and sauces
- Desserts: blue sorbet, vanilla ice cream, snowflake treats, traditional pastries
Regal View Restaurant & Lounge (World of Frozen table-service):
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Princess character dining with Belle, Merida, Jasmine, Aurora, Mulan, and Ariel
- Refined atmosphere with embroidered drapes, floral tapestries, wood moldings
- Ornamental plates handmade by Royal Delft (fancy Dutch porcelain)
- THE FIRST BAR in either Disneyland Paris park! (Dedicated to Princess animal companions like Heihei, Pascal, and Mushu)
- Signature cocktails with views of Adventure Bay and World of Frozen fireworks
Beyond World of Frozen, there are 14 NEW food and beverage locations along Adventure Way:
- La Terrasse Panoramique: Bread bowls, New York rolls, hot beverages
- Café Luminosity: Original hot dogs with four recipes, cinnamon rolls
- Mobile carts: Brioche rolls, stuffed potato waffles, Princess-inspired desserts
This is a game-changer for actually being able to eat at the park without ridiculous waits or limited options.
Tangled Gets Its Own Ride!
Tangled Spin (Raiponce Tangled Spin) opens March 29 alongside World of Frozen. You'll ride in boats identical to the ones from the movie while whirling beneath floating lanterns as “I See the Light” plays.
Mandy Moore is BACK as Rapunzel voicing exclusive announcements for the attraction, which is a nice touch that shows Disney's putting effort into making this feel special rather than just slapping Tangled theming on a generic ride.
Entertainment Everywhere
Themed Gardens: Tangled Garden and Toy Story Garden along the promenade
Seasonal Entertainment:
- Spring: Rapunzel and Flynn's Musical Encounter
- Summer: Mary Poppins and the Pearly Band
- Fall: Miguel's Latin Festival
- November+: Character greetings
Mickey and Minnie: New Victorian-inspired costumes with more characters coming later
Disney Cascade of Lights: Nighttime spectacular with hundreds of drones, pyrotechnics, choreographed fountains, and 360-degree views. This is Disney's answer to guests complaining there was no reason to stay at Studios Park after dark.
The Lion King Is Coming (Eventually)
Disney has confirmed a Lion King land and ride are planned for Disney Adventure World, though no opening date has been announced yet. This shows Disney's treating the March 29 opening as just the beginning of a multi-year transformation rather than a one-and-done expansion.
The Lion King addition will presumably add even more capacity and give the park another major IP-based land to justify multi-day visits.
Why This Matters SO MUCH
Walt Disney Studios Park has been the weak link at Disneyland Paris since day one. It was small, didn't have enough attractions, had terrible dining options, and just felt like a half-finished park that Disney built on a budget and never properly completed.
Disney Adventure World represents Disney FINALLY investing in Disneyland Paris the way they invest in their American and Asian parks. The World of Frozen alone is a massive addition, but when you combine it with Tangled Spin, 14 new dining locations, comprehensive entertainment upgrades, and future Lion King promises, you're looking at a park that might actually justify spending full days there.
For European Disney fans who've been envious of what American parks get, this is Disney saying “okay, we're taking Disneyland Paris seriously now.”
For international visitors deciding whether Disneyland Paris is worth the trip versus just going to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, Disney Adventure World makes the European resort way more compelling as a destination rather than just “Disney but in France.”
When You Can Experience It
March 29, 2025 is the official opening date for Disney Adventure World, World of Frozen, Tangled Spin, all the new dining, and the entertainment offerings.
If you're planning a Disneyland Paris trip and you've been waiting for the resort to feel worth the international travel and expense, March 29 is probably the date to target because that's when the transformation actually becomes real instead of just concept art and promises. Just manage expectations because opening days at Disney parks are often chaotic with technical issues, long waits, and operational kinks that need working out, so maybe give it a few weeks after March 29 before you book if you want smoother experiences rather than being there on literal day one when everything's still being figured out
