Tucked along the coast of Central Florida, where rockets pierce the sky and innovation is part of the landscape, the Kennedy Space Center has just achieved liftoff of a different kind. The NASA-run attraction was recently named the top destination in the United States in TripAdvisor’s “Best of the Best Things to Do” list.
Surpassing some of the most iconic destinations across the nation, including theme parks known the world over, the space-focused complex on Merritt Island captured the number one spot in the country—and ranked third globally, only behind the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Barcelona’s Basílica de la Sagrada Familia.

“With such a huge selection of travel activities and excursions available on the platform, Tripadvisor helps travelers find the experiences that turn a trip into a lifelong memory,” said Tripadvisor President Kristen Dalton via ClickOrlando. “Whether you crave adrenaline or prefer to take things slow, ‘The Best of the Best Things to Do’ showcases the world’s top-rated experiences.”
Florida is a destination long celebrated for its world-class attractions, including the Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort. This year alone, Universal has expanded its footprint with the highly anticipated Epic Universe theme park. However, despite the draw of iconic parks like Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, none of these destinations were featured on TripAdvisor’s final list of top attractions.

The Kennedy Space Center’s wide-ranging experiences blend rich history with hands-on exploration. From viewing the massive Saturn V rocket inside the Apollo/Saturn V Center to walking beneath the real Space Shuttle Atlantis, the center immerses guests in humanity’s journey into space. Interactive exhibits, like astronaut training simulators and the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour, offer visitors of all ages the chance to explore NASA’s legacy and its path ahead.
One of the most unique aspects of the center is that it remains an active launch site. Guests can even witness a rocket launch during their visit, adding real-time excitement to an already unforgettable experience.
The Heroes & Legends exhibit and collections of authentic astronaut gear ensure that every visit resonates with both nostalgia and forward-thinking ambition.
