Freddy Krueger Returns in Chilling New ‘Elm Street’ Trailer

The dream demon is slashing his way back onto shelves—this time in 4K.

Warner Bros. Entertainment has announced that all seven of the original Nightmare on Elm Street films are available on digital in 4K Ultra HD, giving horror fans the sharpest look yet at Robert Englund’s run as Freddy Krueger.

The studio revealed the collection with a new trailer that revisits some of the franchise’s most infamous moments.

“Can your nightmares be fatal? In this classic of the horror film genre that launched a movie franchise, a hideously scarred man who was murdered by a lynch mob returns years later in the terrifying nightmares of his killers' teenaged children… And the dreaming teenagers are starting to die in their sleep,” the official description from Warner Bros. reads.

The lineup includes:

  • A Nightmare on Elm Street

  • Freddy's Revenge

  • Dream Warriors

  • The Dream Master

  • The Dream Child

  • Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare

  • Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Englund played Freddy from the 1984 original through 1994’s New Nightmare. However, he would later don the razor glove one final time in the 2003 crossover Freddy vs. Jason.

Platinum Dunes' 2010 remake attempted to revive the brand with Jackie Earle Haley in the role, but while that film was a box office success, grossing $117.7 million against its $35 million budget, it was met with negative reviews from audiences and critics.

Meanwhile, Englund has since confirmed he won’t be returning. A future reboot is all but certain, though it will have to find a new actor to carry the torch.

With this latest release, though, fans can at least relive Englund’s full decade as Freddy in the highest quality yet—even if a return to Elm Street in a new story remains uncertain.

According to the Warner Bros. store, the hard set will be available from October 27.
