Full Disney+ June Lineup Revealed as Massive ‘Avatar’ Project Joins Library

June is shaping up to be a massive month for Disney+, and one release in particular already has fans counting down the days. After dominating theaters and staying at the center of online conversation for months, the next chapter in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise is finally making its way to streaming.

Still, Disney+ is doing far more than just bringing audiences back to Pandora.

The platform has packed June with animated premieres, Hulu additions, sports coverage, documentaries, and returning fan favorites. At the same time, Disney itself is entering one of its busiest entertainment stretches of the year across both theaters and streaming.

Disney Has a Busy Summer Ahead

Disney’s theatrical calendar is already stacked for the months ahead. Marvel fans continue waiting for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Pixar is preparing for Toy Story 5, and Disney’s live-action Moana remake remains one of the company’s biggest upcoming releases.

But Disney+ is clearly trying to keep pace with that excitement.

Rather than relying on one giant premiere, the platform is spreading major content throughout June. Subscribers will see a steady mix of family programming, originals, sports content, and franchise additions arrive week after week.

And by the end of the month, Disney+ lands its biggest title yet.

Early June Focuses on Family Content

The first half of June leans heavily into animation and Hulu content.

On June 1, Disney+ adds Season 2 of Disney Jr. Ariel – The Little Mermaid. The series continues Ariel’s underwater adventures while expanding on the world introduced during the first season. Disney clearly expects younger viewers to spend plenty of time with this one over summer break.

That same stretch also brings Doctor on the Edge to the platform through Hulu on Disney+. The series follows a highly respected surgeon whose life suddenly unravels, forcing him to relocate to a remote island. Its darker tone gives Disney+ something noticeably different from its usual family-heavy lineup.

Sports also continue playing a bigger role on the platform. Throughout June, subscribers can stream WNBA games, PGA coverage, college baseball, Banana Ball events, and NBA Draft programming through Disney’s expanding ESPN integration.

Disney+ no longer wants to feel like a service built only around movies and kids' shows, and June’s lineup makes that strategy pretty obvious.

Mid-June Adds Pixar and Disney Parks Content

As June moves forward, Disney+ begins adding more originals and behind-the-scenes programming.

On June 10, the animated fantasy sports series Dragon Striker premieres with all episodes available immediately. The series blends athletics and magic in a world built around competition and adventure, making it an easy fit for younger audiences looking for a quick summer binge.

Disney Parks fans also get a major addition that same day with The Magic Behind Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The documentary special explores Disney’s newest resort expansion while giving viewers a look at the Imagineers behind the project.

Meanwhile, Disney+ is also launching a dedicated Pixar Stream featuring Pixar movies, shorts, and series. With Toy Story 5 approaching, the move feels carefully timed.

Disney knows families often revisit Pixar favorites during summer vacation, and the company appears ready to lean into that nostalgia once again.

Late June Belongs to Avatar

The biggest Disney+ release of June easily arrives on June 24.

That is when Avatar: Fire and Ash officially lands on the platform after months of anticipation. The film continues the story of Jake Sully, Neytiri, and their family while introducing the Ash People, a Na’vi clan with a deep resentment toward Eywa following the destruction of their homeland.

Disney clearly views this as one of its biggest streaming events of the summer.

After a huge theatrical run beginning in December 2025, fans have been waiting months for the movie’s Disney+ debut. Now, the company is using the release to anchor its entire June lineup.

The same day also brings Season 3 of Behind the Attraction, with the series shifting its attention toward Disney Cruise Line and Disney Destiny.

Then, on June 25, Hulu via Disney+ premieres Season 5 of FX’s The Bear, giving subscribers another major title immediately after the Avatar launch.

Disney+ Wants To Own the Summer Conversation

Disney+ looks far more aggressive this summer than it has in recent months.

Between new animated releases, sports programming, Disney Parks content, Hulu originals, Pixar additions, and the arrival of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the platform suddenly has a packed schedule that can keep subscribers engaged all month long.

And realistically, once audiences return to Pandora, Disney may not need much else to keep attention focused on Disney+ for weeks.
