Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is known for its elegance and tranquility, offering guests luxurious accommodations just steps from Magic Kingdom Park. However, the serene atmosphere was disrupted on Saturday evening when police and security cast members responded to a reported threat.

At around 5:00 p.m., Reddit user u/ghost_shark_619 noticed unusual activity at the resort:

“Lots of police and security activity… Whatever happened… it shut down the Monorail.”

Additional accounts from Disney Park guests revealed more about the situation. Some reported that a guest made a concerning comment about the Monorail that prompted the emergency response.

“A guest made an inappropriate comment for an environment where security is a concern,” u/SeriousStrokes69 explained. “That comment had to be taken seriously, so it resulted in the Monorail being shut down for a period of time, and the person who made the comment was arrested and trespassed from the property.”

Redditor u/Guilty-Programmer954 recounted seeing the suspect escorted away by law enforcement:

“We were in line for the Monorail and the man walked past us with handcuffs… Apparently, he had a bag he had thrown or hid, and the police wanted what’s inside.”

The Monorail resumed operations later that evening, but Walt Disney World Resort has not issued a public statement about the nature of the incident.
