Michael Myers is officially back in Haddonfield, and this time, fans can experience the terrifying events of John Carpenter's original Halloween (1978) from a different perspective.
IllFonic's newly released horror title Halloween: The Game (2026) revisits the original slasher classic, expanding on the night that introduced one of horror's most enduring villains.

Released in September, the asymmetrical game recreates the events of the original movie, with a 1v4 mode allowing players to either fight Myers as one of the town's heroes or stalk Haddonfield's residents a the bogeyman himself in a dedicated story campaign, which the developers have described as “a reimagined extended cut” of the 1978 film (per the game's official website).
Players can take on the role of Michael and witness the events of the film from his point of view, including his escape from Smith's Grove Sanitarium.

The game also brings back several familiar faces alongside a roster of new characters.
Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode returns in a new performance by Chelsea Krause, alongside familiar faces including Annie Brackett (Kaitlyn Robrock), Lynda van der Klok (Angela Carbone), Bob Simms (Nicholas Leung), Sheriff Brackett (Joe Ochman), and Dr. Loomis (Colin Mahan), alongside new playable teenage characters known collectively as the “Heroes of Haddonfield.”
While Carpenter's original film remains untouched, Halloween: The Game offers a new interpretation of its events, adding characters, victims, and new details about Myers' mysterious abilities.
The official description invites players to choose their side: “Choose to save the quiet town of Haddonfield from bloodshed as a Hero of Haddonfield or stalk and terrorize the residents as Michael Myers.”
The franchise's next chapter in gaming has arrived just in time for Halloween.
