Hannah Montana Pop-Ups Are Coming and It’s Definitely a Party in the USA

Maybelline and Disney+ are teaming up to host special Hannah Montana pop-ups in New York City and Los Angeles, marking a much-anticipated comeback for the show. The pop-ups, inspired by Hannah's fashion and transformation moments, will feature interactive Maybelline glam stations reminiscent of Hannah's closet.

The Los Angeles event is on March 21 (12 p.m. – 8 p.m.) and March 22 (11 a.m. – 8 p.m.) at The Grove, while the New York event takes place on March 28 (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.) and March 29 (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.) at The Atrium at Ideal Glass Studio. Admission is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, making it accessible to fans.

The 20th Anniversary Special Is Why This Is Happening

The pop-ups celebrate the upcoming Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premiering on Disney+ on March 24, 2026, marking two decades since the show first aired, and honestly, the fan reactions have been absolutely wild. Social media immediately exploded when Disney announced the anniversary special, with reactions ranging from nostalgic excitement to desperate pleas for specific elements fans want included.

One fan posted that they don't know who needs to handle it, but for the Hannah Montana 20th anniversary, Disney needs to put “I Wanna Know You” with David Archuleta back on Spotify immediately, highlighting how specific song versions and collaborations from the franchise have disappeared from streaming platforms over the years despite remaining burned into fans' memories. Another fan expressed the universal desire to access the live studio audience taping, posting that they would do anything in the world to get into the Hannah Montana 20th anniversary live audience.

What's Actually In The Hannah Montana Special

The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special will include never-before-seen archival footage and an in-depth interview with Cyrus hosted by Alex Cooper from the Call Her Daddy podcast, which is honestly brilliant because it bridges the gap between early 2000s Disney Channel fans and those who follow Cyrus's adult career. The special promises meticulous set recreations, including the Stewart family living room and the iconic revolving closet that represented the physical transformation between Miley Stewart's ordinary life and Hannah Montana's glamorous pop star persona.

Musical surprises are also in store with the return of “familiar notes,” hinting at live performances of Hannah Montana songs that haven't been in Cyrus's concerts for years, offering a chance to hear them with her evolved vocal style and life experience. For four seasons and two movies from 2006 until 2011, Cyrus starred as Miley Stewart, also known as Hannah Montana, with the Emmy-nominated series spawning 14 platinum and 18 gold albums worldwide, which is an insane number even by today's standards.

Miley Finally Embracing Hannah Montana Again

Miley Cyrus addressed the anniversary special in a statement, acknowledging that Hannah Montana will always be part of who she is and describing the “Hannahversary” as a way of celebrating and thanking fans who have stood by her for 20 years. That acknowledgment represents notable evolution from earlier periods in Cyrus's career when she actively distanced herself from the Hannah Montana character and the Disney Channel image it represented.

Disney+ is launching a dedicated nonstop stream starting February 19 featuring all four seasons of the original series, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and the Best of Both Worlds Concert film, creating appointment-viewing opportunities for fans wanting to marathon the entire franchise before the anniversary special. The series has accumulated over half a billion hours streamed on Disney+ since the platform's launch, demonstrating that Hannah Montana remains commercially viable two decades after its 2006 premiere.

Guests at the pop-ups will be able to gather glam essentials, Polaroid photo moments, and more to live the “Best of Both Worlds” in spaces that recreate Hannah's closet aesthetic, featuring interactive Maybelline glam stations that allow fans to experience the glamorous transformation that defined the show.
