Here's the Dish Doing Disney - From a Real Pro

FastPass

Make FastPass+ Reservations

With your dining in order, it’s time to address your final (and perhaps most important set of) reservations, your FastPass+ selections. To accommodate crowds, Disney invented the FastPass+ system to decrease attraction wait times. While some parks charge you a fee to skip the line, Disney allows guests to make three FastPass+ selections a day. All you have to do is make your reservations and show up for the times you’re allotted.

To make them, you can either use the My Disney Experience app or log onto the website. Best of all, once your three FastPass+ choices are used up, you can continue to make more! If you’re staying on Disney property, you will be able to make your selections 60 days in advance, and if you’re an off-property guest, you can make them 30 days in advance. Regardless of when you’re eligible, don’t slack on making your choices. The most popular rides get booked up quickly, and snagging a FastPass+ can mean the difference between walking onto Space Mountain and a two-hour wait.

Don’t forget about R and R

Boardwalk Inn Pool

For any vacationers staying a week or longer, I’m going to highly encourage you to take a rest day. There are so many things to experience in WDW, many guests can’t resist hitting the parks from rope drop to closing. And don’t get me wrong, that’s a blast too. On the other hand, that kind of schedule can drain a family’s energy by day three. Take my advice and put aside one day/half day in the middle of your trip. Use that day to sleep in, lay by the resort pool, or just ride the monorail because you can. This mental and physical break can work miracles in the middle of a “go go go” vacation. Trust me. You’ll enjoy your trip so much more overall if you take the time to replenish your precious stamina. You’ll never travel for a week without one again!

Now that you have all of the expert tips, you should be ready to plan a vacation that is sure to run smoothly and magically. We wish you happy travels and happy planning!
