How to Enjoy Walt Disney World Parks When They’re Crowded

Crowds and Disney? Unfortunately these two words tend to go together, especially during certain weeks each year. Plan for your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort during peak seasons and get the most out of your trip with these quick tips.

1. Download the My Disney Experience App

Planning is key during a crowded day at the Walt Disney World Resort. The best way to prep for a crowded Disney day is to download the My Disney Experience App and familiarize yourself with it before your trip. Use the app to track your resort and dining reservations, make FastPasses, and check character meet and greets and park hours throughout your trip.

2. Purchase Park Hopper Tickets

Magic Your Way Base Tickets are usually recommended because they are the most inexpensive way to experience Disney parks. When the parks are crowded however, you may find Park Hopper Tickets more useful so you can easily switch parks based on the crowd levels. Park Hopper Tickets also allow you to be flexible in your trip, in that you’ll easily be able to pop into a different park just for dinner or to see the fireworks.

3. Get to the parks early

Whether you choose to use Extra Magic Hours or simply arrive when the parks open, getting to the parks early is a must. Even on a crowded day, the crowds are lighter in the morning, so getting to the parks early is a great way to experience popular attractions without using a FastPass or waiting in long lines. Early mornings in the parks are also great for character meet and greets that can have long waits as well as for getting photos with minimal guests in the background.
