July 16 Disneyland Begins Selling $71 Tickets for a Limited Time

A trip to Disneyland doesn't usually come with bargain pricing, which is why Disney's newest announcement is generating plenty of excitement among local residents.

To celebrate the resort's upcoming 71st anniversary, Disneyland is introducing a special ticket offer that gives eligible Anaheim residents the chance to visit for significantly less than standard admission.

Beginning July 16, qualifying residents will be able to purchase one-day tickets starting at just $71. Those tickets can be used from July 20 through October 8, giving locals several weeks to plan a visit before the promotion expires.

The discounted pricing applies to multiple ticket options.

Guests ages 10 and older can purchase a one-day, one-park ticket for $71 or choose a Park Hopper ticket for $104 if they want to experience both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure during the same visit.

Children between the ages of 3 and 9 can purchase either ticket option for $50, making the offer especially attractive for families looking to spend a day at the resort without paying regular ticket prices.

The timing couldn't be much better.

Not only does the promotion celebrate Disneyland's 71st birthday, but it also stretches into one of the resort's most popular times of the year. Halloween festivities begin on August 21, bringing seasonal decorations, themed entertainment, specialty food, attraction overlays, and exclusive merchandise to both parks.

For Anaheim residents, the promotion offers a chance to experience those seasonal offerings while paying far less than many out-of-town visitors.

Disney has periodically introduced discounted admission for Southern California residents, but offers dedicated specifically to Anaheim residents remain relatively uncommon. Because Disneyland has called Anaheim home since opening in 1955, the anniversary promotion feels like a natural way to recognize the local community.

The announcement also arrives shortly after another ticket offer quietly disappeared.

Disney had previously revealed a $59 evening admission promotion that was expected to run on select nights during July and early August. That promotion is no longer available, making this new anniversary offer the primary discounted ticket currently available through Disneyland.

Although Disney hasn't provided additional details about why the evening promotion ended, the new resident offer arguably provides greater value since guests receive access for an entire day.

For Disney, promotions like these can encourage additional attendance while also bringing more local visitors into the parks during the late summer travel season. Guests often spend money on dining, shopping, and seasonal snacks once inside, making discounted admission beneficial for both the company and visitors.

With Disneyland celebrating another milestone anniversary and Halloween season right around the corner, the $71 ticket offer gives Anaheim residents one of the most affordable opportunities to experience the resort this year.
