Aloha! And welcome to our review of Kona Cafe’s island breakfast at Disney’s Polynesian Resort Hotel. Savor Hawaiian inspired breakfast foods amidst a tropical atmosphere complete with rich dark wooden accents and towering greenery as you’re served by a hospitable and attentive wait staff.
Dining Fare
I have two words for you – Tonga Toast! The famous breakfast treat prepared with layer of banana in its’ center then rolled in cinnamon and sugar is a decadent treat that at least one of your party needs to order! Other breakfast favorites including french toast, pancakes toped with pineapple, eggs of every variety and an array of breakfast meats are also available in many combinations. Fresh juices and coffee are a refreshing accompaniment to your meal as well.
Entertainment
A meal at Kona Cafe does not include entertainment or characters but the lovely surroundings and island atmosphere are relaxing break from the busyness of the parks.
Rating
This is one of my favorite breakfasts amongst the Disney resort restaurants because of the Polynesian influence in the food preparation. Though you won’t have a visit by one of your lovable Disney Characters while you eat… your first bite of Tonga Toast will more than make up for that… and don’t worry, you’ll walk off all those calories in the park!

Tip
To add to the experience, ask for a seat close to the garden atrium and enjoy the tropical flowers and waterfall.
