Disney has updated its operational schedule to show that Magic Kingdom‘s Pete’s Silly Sideshow will close tomorrow, January 4, instead of its previously listed January 5 date. The revision appeared on official park listings without a separate announcement, signaling a slightly accelerated start to the project.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow has served as a dedicated meet-and-greet space for Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy, all appearing in circus-style attire. Guests could meet the characters inside themed tents through the Meet Dashing Disney Pals as Circus Stars and Meet Daring Disney Pals as Circus Stars experiences, which presented the characters as performers with coordinated costumes and staging.

The closure is connected to maintenance and refurbishment work on the Fantasyland building that houses the meet-and-greet area. Disney has not released detailed information about the project, but permit filings from late last year indicate that exterior updates and general upkeep are planned. There is currently no announced date for the location’s return.

While the tents will be closed starting tomorrow, Disney has emphasized that the characters are not leaving Storybook Circus. Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy will continue greeting guests within the land during the refurbishment period, though their appearances may shift to alternate locations.

Other Storybook Circus offerings are expected to remain available. Big Top Souvenirs and nearby food locations should continue operating, allowing guests to experience much of the area while construction is underway.

For guests hoping to visit Pete’s Silly Sideshow as it currently exists, today is the last opportunity to do so. Beginning January 4, the location will be unavailable until further notice.

This change coincides with additional work taking place elsewhere in Fantasyland. Cinderella Castle is undergoing a repainting project this year that requires the moat to be drained, with construction crews and equipment present during guest visits. Castle photos may include cranes and scaffolding while the work continues.

As refurbishment plans evolve, Disney recommends that guests review park offerings ahead of their visit, particularly if character experiences are a key part of their trip.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
