As autumn continues, Walt Disney World Resort is embracing a season of updates, offering guests new ways to enjoy both morning adventures and evening celebrations. At the heart of it all is Magic Kingdom Park, where operational changes are helping visitors make the most of the day before Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins each night.
The Halloween celebration, which started on August 15, has already sold out for the season—just as in past years, Halloween night on October 31 was the first to fill up. On party nights, Magic Kingdom becomes a Halloween playground beginning at 7 p.m. Guests with party tickets can enter as early as 4 p.m. without a daytime admission, continuing a favorite perk despite ticket price increases.
To balance the early closures that come with these after-hours events, Disney has expanded morning hours on select days. Starting in mid-August, Magic Kingdom opened its gates at 8:00 a.m. with Early Theme Park Entry available to resort guests at 7:30 a.m. This schedule began August 15 and extended to August 17, 19, and 22, giving guests extra time to enjoy the park before evening transformations began.
The early openings don’t stop there. On October 26 and October 31, the park will again open at 8:00 a.m. with Early Entry starting at 7:30 a.m. Morning visitors can enjoy popular attractions across Fantasyland and Tomorrowland with lighter crowds, often finding these days to be among the most relaxed times to explore.
Meanwhile, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also seeing schedule changes. On November 1, the park will open at 8:30 a.m., with Early Entry at 8:00 a.m. Resort guests can take advantage of the earlier start to experience fan-favorite attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Slinky Dog Dash.
The park is also in the midst of major changes as the former Grand Avenue area is being transformed into a new Monsters, Inc. Land, continuing Disney’s investment in immersive storytelling across the resort.
These operational shifts are designed to improve the guest experience. They help manage crowd flow, offer more flexibility, and give early risers extra time to explore before Florida’s midday sun takes over.
Still, the highlight of the season remains Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a fan-favorite event filled with signature entertainment. The Boo-To-You Halloween Parade once again brings dancing ghosts, Disney Villains, and the Headless Horseman to Main Street, U.S.A., while the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular lights up Cinderella Castle with the Sanderson Sisters and other mischievous Disney characters.
As the night concludes, Jack Skellington hosts Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, a fireworks and projection show that fills the sky above the castle with Halloween spirit.
Though some guests have mentioned concerns about rising ticket costs, the additional morning hours offer extra value and convenience for those visiting on party days. For many, these changes create a more balanced, enjoyable experience across both day and night.
