Marvel fans weren't supposed to see the new footage from Avengers Endgame: Encore (2026) quite yet, but some of the biggest surprises may already be out.
The rerelease officially arrives in theaters September 25, but footage reportedly captured during early screenings has begun circulating online. If everything shown is legitimate, Marvel has done much more than extend Avengers: Endgame (2019).
The reported additions appear to build a direct bridge toward Avengers: Doomsday (2026). Steve Rogers, Loki, Bruce Banner, Doctor Doom, and the TVA all factor into the new material, while several moments could carry much bigger implications for the MCU's Multiverse.
Steve Rogers Doesn't Get to Stay Retired for Long
One of the biggest additions reportedly changes the way audiences leave Steve Rogers.
At the end of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Steve returns to the past and finally shares his long-awaited dance with Peggy Carter. Endgame: Encore apparently adds another development to that familiar scene.
Someone knocks at Steve and Peggy's door. Peggy answers and finds Loki waiting outside, while Steve looks surprised by the unexpected visitor.
The appearance immediately raises questions because this seems to be the Loki connected to the TVA and Marvel's larger Multiverse storyline.
Rumors have suggested Loki could move Steve, Pegg,y and their family elsewhere in the Multiverse to protect them from the approaching crisis. The leaked scene doesn't establish that, but Loki seeking out Steve could explain how Captain America gets pulled back into the action.
Doctor Doom Tracks Down Bruce Banner
Steve isn't the only Avenger apparently getting an unexpected visitor.
Another scene reportedly finds Bruce Banner hiding inside an old military facility deep underground. Banner records himself as he works on a serum intended to stabilize his condition, seemingly believing that his isolated location will keep anyone from interfering.
Then Doctor Doom arrives.
Downey's Doom apparently remains largely out of view, but his voice can reportedly be heard telling Banner that he has come to “collect” him. The scene then suggests Bruce is beginning to transform into Hulk.
Why Doom wants Banner remains unanswered.
He could be recruiting Hulk, attempting to control him, or seeking his power for another purpose. Whatever Doom's plan involves, his arrival suggests Banner wasn't chosen accidentally.
The TVA Faces a Much Bigger Emergency
While Banner's scene focuses on Doom, another leaked sequence expands the danger across the Multiverse.
Mobius, Casey, and Ouroboros reportedly appear inside the TVA alongside Miss Minutes. They discover that different universes are beginning to collide, only to realize the problem runs much deeper.
The entire Multiverse appears to be collapsing.
One of the realities involved is reportedly Earth-10005, which is associated with Fox's X-Men movies. That could give the sequence an important connection to the mutants heading into Avengers: Doomsday (2026).
And then there's Deadpool.
The TVA played an important role in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), meaning Wade Wilson already has a connection to this corner of the MCU. That movie also included the unexplained glimpse of Thor apparently crying over an injured Deadpool.
Could that moment eventually surface in Avengers: Doomsday (2026) or Avengers: Secret Wars (2027)? It's possible, but that remains speculation.
Doctor Doom's Mask Brings Tony Stark to Mind
The final reported addition leans heavily into another connection Marvel fans won't overlook.
Doctor Doom's mask is reportedly shown being forged, creating an immediate visual parallel to Tony Stark building his original Iron Man armor in Iron Man (2008).
There's another connection. The credits of Avengers: Endgame (2019) ended with the familiar sound of Tony hammering metal.
Now, similar imagery surrounds Doom.
Robert Downey Jr. playing both Tony Stark and Victor von Doom makes that comparison even harder to ignore.
Doom May Be Building His Own Team
Those similarities become even more interesting when considering what Doom does with Banner.
Tony Stark once sought out heroes and helped assemble the Avengers. Doom now appears to be tracking down powerful individuals himself.
If Doom really intends to “collect” Hulk, Banner could become an unwilling ally, weapon, or part of a larger group that Doom is assembling.
Meanwhile, Loki's appearance at Steve's home offers another potential piece of the puzzle. Steve received his happy ending, but the collapse of the Multiverse may give him a reason to return.
Could Doom Have a Bigger Tony Stark Connection?
Marvel has identified Downey's character as Victor von Doom rather than Tony Stark, and nothing officially establishes that Doom is secretly a Stark variant.
Still, Endgame: Encore appears to invite comparisons.
Doom seeks out Banner; his mask recalls Downey playing Tony's Iron Man beginnings, and both characters. Marvel could eventually explain those similarities through variants, mistaken identity, or something completely unexpected.
For now, the Tony-Doom connection remains a theory.
Endgame: Encore Opens the Door to Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers Endgame: Encore (2026) arrives September 25, 2026, followed by Avengers: Doomsday (2026) on December 18.
Until audiences see the rerelease, some context surrounding the leaked footage could still be missing.
But if these scenes are accurate, Endgame: Encore isn't simply revisiting Marvel's past. It may be using one of the MCU's biggest endings to begin setting up what comes next.
